Maxi, I know the verdict is leaning toward the sling-backs ... but I opted for the stilettos ... they match the gowns so much better!!! Now about your stay at the poshest hotel ... I packed my bag as if I were going on a long vacation ... and all it did was get in my way!!! Didn't even think about the face creams, make-up, perfume ... girly stuff that I brought with me because I was certain that the minute I had my surgery I was going to be a changed woman ... and suddenly want to be all girly. The fact was, that I didn't even get a shower until my second day home! I know ... gross!!! But I did take my own soft comfy jammies ... and I wore them. BUT that has more to do with the fact that I was so shy, that I would have never been able to make myself walk the halls in the air conditioned gowns! I did use a gown as my robe though ... and it made it really convenient. The only other things I used were my deodorant, hair brush, hair clip and band, toothbrush and paste, and most important was that WONDERFUL CHAP STICK!!! And as someone else said ... sense of humor ... make sure you take that with you - it will serve you well! About the pillow ... my nurse made me a wonderful cough pillow out of a blanket and taped it up ... I loved it ... BUT even if you opt for that ... make sure you have a pillow for the trip home ... especially if it is a long trip!!! Hugs, Tammy

Ok girls, let's see ... 1 t-shirt 1 sweatpant 1 sports bra? 2 pair socks 1 pair comfy shoes 4 undies (1 the day of, 1 the next day, 1 for the day home, and 1 extra just in case I look in the mirror in the day or two after and wet myself ) 1 super-duper comfy pj outfit (or just opt for their beauty legend garb aka hospital gown, but sounds like it'll make a better robe while I'm walking.) 1 scrunchy 1 deodorant 1 chapstick 1 moshi pillow (thanks for the tip!!) 1 leg wedge pillow (disk problems) 1 C-Pap machine variety of oral care products 1 large bottle of Purell (I'm not bringing home one of their possible nosocomial infections!) 1 thingie of wet wipes (since I can't shower ) What else, girls? What else??? (I assume there's no sneaking in chocolate ) Reading material? Word search puzzles? Just waiting on your final wisdom! Thanks!! San-Max

Hi San-Max.. LOL ok, I can't call you that, sounds just TOO much like a feminine product ARG, all I can see is you running through some meadow somewhere lmao. Sports bra...I took mine off when I was admitted and went au natural till the day after I got home. T-shirt and sweats...had those on when I arrived and wore the same ones home. Same with socks, took my clean socks off when I got to the hosp and stuck them in the bag with my clothes, they put the slipper socks on me and there they stayed till I dressed to go home. Undies..um, this might be TMI but I didn't even bother with them..couldn't wear them while I had the cath in and didn't bother for the 24 hours after it was removed till I went home. Took one pair to wear home. I wore 2 of their gowns, one right and one backwards robe style. They are HUGE so skin flashage wasn't a problem lol Scrunchy is good...my hair is too short tho lol I washed up with the stuff they gave me...soap, toothpaste etc. Took a halfway sponge bath the second day. Frankly I really didn't care much what I smelled like LOL Chapstick and moshi definitely C-Pap if you feel you MUST breathe lol Oral care products, I used theirs. I never even opened the bag I brought, didn't do the crossword or read my book. I think they will frown on the chocolates, maybe a nice healthy salad instead LOL. Lin-Da

What a list. You packing for a cruise trip? Not too much you get to do in the hospital except walk, cough, sip and try and walk some more.

Hey Maxi, I took nothing but myself, my pillow, toothbrush, paste, comb. Wore comfy clothes in and the same ones home. Didn't even wear a bra in or home. Undies are a must! but only for the ride home. My drain stayed in for two weeks. It paid to travel light. The worse thing that happened to me in the hospital was the lady in the next bed had 50 visitors, that's right 50, I counted them and stopped at 50. It was terrible. After the second day of that nonscence (spelling) I asked her to PLEASE take her company into the solarium. She wasn't too happy with me either but come on that is a little ridiculous. I didn't want anyone to come and visit me, I just wanted to get better, and WALK, WALK, BREATHE, BREATHE, AND WALK SOME MORE. Seriously, Best wishes and God Bless, Mama
