Oh Wanette,
I am so sorry to hear this ... I am sorry but I don't have any sage advice ... I still can't figure out how to get through it either once I go into overload. I just wanted to give you a (hug). Just to let you know, a while back I had a horrible toothache for days ... and could barely get anything down because of the pain. When I was able to start again, everything, and I mean everything seemed to make me dump. While I didn't throw up with mine, I sure felt nauseous, shaky, jumpy, rapid pulse and when it was all said and done ... simply wiped out. The nauseousness felt like a really horrible case of morning sickness all the time. I went through this feeling sick for about a week when finally it settled down once again. But you know, to this day, my stomach is very sensitive to smells, sight, thoughts, even sounds. Just the slightest thing can make me nauseous at times. And this is coming from a person who used to be an EMT and nothing ever fazed me.
The only thing I can tell you that I did/do, was/is to start out real slow. Eating only a small amount (bite****il I could see how it was going to do. Mostly I found that hot tea, and hot lemonade was what worked best for me. Then I was able to add in a few food items, but not too much and not too fast.
Sure hope you get through this real soon ... sure hope someone comes along soon with some real help for you!
Hugs,
Tammy
Hi Wanette,
Wow, so sorry you're sick, nausea is the absolute WORST. I have only had a few isolated bouts so far. It's likely that your new tummy is just so stressed from being sick that it's taking it awhile to recover. Like Tammy said, warm things worked best for me in the early stages and were VERY soothing to the pouch. Just ease back into your routine. Try warming up some Carb Countdown if you have it and adding sugar free hot choc mix, or the hot choc mix from the docs office. Not only will you have the warmth but also a needed shot of protein.
Stay aware and if something doesn't feel right, call em back! Here's hoping you are much better by the time you get this.
Linda
Hi Wanette
So sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. Wish I could give you a hug. Take things in little steps. I have heard that sipping on warm liquids does help to soothe the tummy. I will be home this weekend, give me a call on my cell 302 593 0243 if I can pick something up for you.
If the food smells are getting to you, maybe your family members could go out to eat or be in a different room while they are eatting. Maybe use an exhaust fan to blow out the smells.
(((hugs to you)))

Wanette,
So sorry you are feeling so nauseous. Did they give you anything for the nausea? Maybe they didnt think to give you anything for it...try asking them if there is something you can take for it. I remember them giving me nausea medicine at the hospital. Have you tried mint tea? Usually mint is soothing when you have nausea or an upset tummy. Things are stronger after surgery and your body is still healing. I lived off of just plain water with mint tea bags in the bottle. Plain water is still funny feeling on my tummy. I wish you all the best Hang in there the first 2 months are pretty rough! We are here for you! (((hugs)))
