December Roll Call!
HO HO HO and a very Happy Holiday Season to everyone!!
I am three and a half months out and am down 69.8 pounds! I'm fitting into more clothes and doing things that i haven't been able to do in years! I have bought a third floor condo a few weeks before my surgery and just making it up those flights of steps prior to surgery was a chore, but now.......no problem at all....no more heavy breathing when i get to my front door...in fact, somtimes i even jog up the steps! I also went to a theater to see a movie for the first time after surgery and i never realized how comfortable those seats could be!
Let's see, my father and the gentleman who sits next to me at University of Delaware football games now have more room at their seats because of my ever shrinking gerth! YAY!!!!! All i can say is that Dr. Wynn has saved my life and i am eternally grateful!! I repeat the same sentiments as Ken mentioned.......THANKS DR. WYNN!!!!!

Hi Joe,
The steps thing is completely amazing, would you EVER have guessed? Hmm ya know, if your dad and seat neighbor have so much extra space at those UD games, you could send them to me and I can feed them! Glad you're doing so well. Like I told you from the time you were pre-op, I just knew you were gonna be a success!

75 lbs
I'm feeling good these days. Down 75lbs. Getting protein in most of the days. Not much vomiting any more.
Have to exercise more. Need to get more water in, too.
Very thankful for this chance to get my life back.
Hope all of you are well and hope to see you all during this holiday season.

Hi Dianne,
Less barfage is always a gooood thing
You can get in the exercise line with Shelly and I lol, and I'm drinking a HUGE bottle of water as I type. I have been generally doing well with liquids but felt I could bump it up a bit more. I hope you're well too and that I get to see you soon!

It will be six months for me Dec 21st which is right around the corner. I have a loss of 115 lbs plus a few hairs! This loss has been the greatest for me! I found a new friend called the Y. I actually like the place now and I think its because I can move better with the loss. I got blood work done this week and I see the Doctor for the results Dec 14th. Thanksgiving was good. I could eat almost all foods (of course not as much as everyone else but I was satisified). Its been nice to get into smaller clothes but I have the problem of the larger clothes still hanging around....Can't seem to find anyone to take size 32. I am starting to see my closet shrink alot! I hope to improve my activity this month....Can I count opening presents as part of my exercise routine??? Well I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and please keep up the good work! I am so glad I decided on the surgery. It has been a great time so far!
Debbie
Hi Debbie,
Present unwrapping definitely counts as exercise
I was thinking of joining the Y here too. I had been planning on putting a universal in downstairs but think I would fare better if I went there first and worked with a trainer. I don't want to hurt myself. 115 pounds for you...that is completely awesome, congratulations!

December check in. Oh, how fast this year has gone. I have gained so much this year. Friends, knowledge, and health! Who could ask for anything more!!!
Having lost any weight in the past two months. I would still like to lose another 10 to 15 pounds but now I'm willing to work at it for the next ten to twenty years. I have started swimming laps. First time in my life! Still don't enjoy it but it fits the masterplan. Still need to sneak into the pool, and sneak out. Old images die hard. Still doing the spinning, cycling on weekends, eliptical and stairstepper, and a lot of cardio work and weight work on beach balls. Thinking about joining a group that does roller blading soon, but still unsure about the investment.
Just completed the Obesityhelp chapter leadership session today. A few of us will be posting soon about a new support meeting we plan on starting up in January.
Happy holiday season everyone...Stay strong and focused!
Rob

Tis the season! I have so much to be grateful for-Just to be alive. I do have to say I am looking forward to a New Year (out of the hospital-lol). I managed to stay out of the hospital for the whole month of November. I have started back at work, slower than I want but none the less I am there. I am so greatful for the Doctors and all they have done. They have saved my life more then once. I would like to continue to heal and get stronger in the month of December. My personal goal is to increase the protein, continue the water and vitamins. I want to get back to my old protein levels. Once you fall below, it is so hard to get those levels up again. I will get there. Emotionally, I have amazed myself this year. I have held myself up with the help of all of you. I was so scared that the depression would settle in, but I kept trying to stay positive. It sure helps when you have a group of people who support you and accept you for who you are. THANK YOU!
Like Rob said, we are going to start the support group meeting in North Delaware in January. I too have finished my training for the group. It will be held at Concordia Lutheran Church on Silverside Road, Wilmington, DE. It will be on a THURSDAY evening 7-9pm, instead of a Tuesday, like I originally thought. More details to come. I am open to any feed back that you would like to see in you support group.
Thanks again for getting my threw this year!
Hugs to all
Nicki
Its been a wild last couple of weeks for me...The good news..is that I finally broke my plateau and lost 7lbs last week! I was on a plateau for about 8 weeks..and although I was losing inches..the scale just stayed the same. Thanks for all the kind words I did receive! They really helped!
Bad news..Well, my mother(who I have been estranged from..for quite some time) died during the holiday season..so, I had to make arrangements etc..and also deal with a lot of painful memories(which I'm sure contributed to my weight issues). I'm still dealing with it all..the funeral was the day before Thanksgiving..and I kept myself very busy..and I'm still finding ways to deal with old issues.
I did get my hair cut even shorter today..the shortest I have had it in years. I would say, I have lost 1/2 of my hair up front..and although I have stopped shedding after 9 months(and -127lbs)..its just not looking right..thin ends and lots of short hairs coming in..well, I went for the Meg Ryan look. I'll post a picture sometime..I'll definetly need Elissa opinion!
Have a wonderful Holiday season!!! Ya'll are the greatest!!!
hugs,
Kimberly
