I went in today to the doctors and spoke with Dr. Wynn about the use of Celebrex. She said you definately can NOT use it before surgery. If you must use it after surgery, it must be for a brief time. It is not good for the new pouch as it can cause an ulcer. Rose spoke with Dr. Irgau on Thursday and he agreed that He doesn't like us to use it. So there it the answer! Nicki

Good to know and have it clarified. I was surprised at Saturday's meeting as well when the topic was mentioned. I used to think Celebrex was a miracle drug and took it for way too long. Haven't had any since a month before my surgery. YEAH! God Bless, Mama

Nicki, Thanks for clarifying. I know I gave up Celebrex a month prior to surgery on instructions from Dr. Irgau and have never used it since. So I was surprised when Dr. Wynn included it in her list of acceptable medications. I just figured they had learned something new, or had changed their thinking. Rob
