Oh My Goodness
Well I have just gotten over that nasty virus < but I lost 11 lbs with it I'm always looking on the bright side lol> for a total of 40 lbs since surgery. My boss actually said to me "I'm worried about you you are looking tired and thin" I said well thin is kinda what im going for lol. Anyway here is my big dilema. I refuse to shop for new clothes just yet I have a few things in smaller sizes from years ago so I am not buying anything until im out of those sizes, but I am finding it very hard to throw or give away the stuff that I know is too big and looks bad on me. How did you all over come that? Thankkkkkkssss Kristina
Hi Kristina, I definitely know what you mean. I didn't get over it, but my mom and cousin came last weekend. I was going to clear a FEW things out of my closet. My mom made it a total workout. She went through every item in my closet and made me try it on. It reminded me of my school days when we would go through my closet to see what stuff I could fit before going school shopping. Before all of this my closet was bulging with clothes. After this, there were 3 large garbage bags full of clothes, Many of which I didn't want to give a way. I have to say, my closet looks better than it has in a long time. Can you believe, she even made me go through my shoes. I had over 40 pairs of shoes in my closet. I keep them in their original boxes. You wanna know what, we found a pair of black boots in my closet I have never worn. I totally forget I bought them, probably because it was my 3rd pair of black boots. So in answer to your question, My mother made me clean my closet
. I made three bags, a bag for family, a bag for the Salvation Army, and a bag to give to other WLS patients. I have suits that were very costly and it was really hard to part with these things, but they were really too big for me. I had a sense of sorrow and joy at the same time. Go figure. ~Shelly

Kristina,
I'm in the same boat with you......everone has been telling me that i need to get new clothes because the ones i currently have now are big on me. I keep telling people that i am holding off as long as possible because my sizes will keep changing, after all, the holidays are coming up too!
Thats an opprotunity to ask for gift cards so then i can get new clothes. I think i can wait another month.
Good luck.....i know how you feel!
