Hi, I know I am not a "regular" -- I pop on and off here from time to time -- but I still gain great support and encouragement from you all when I do take the time to browse. Hope everyone is doing OK and enjoying the crisp fall weather! Over the past week I had three 3 month checkups (Danielle PMRI nutritionist, Dr. Iragu, and Dr. Burgess PMRI doc) as well as, my first set of bloodwork reviewed. EVERYTHING WENT GREAT! My levels were fine. My diet looks good too. All three visits were very positive and I feel revitalized and encouraged to keep on going. I am down 54 pounds and feeling great!!!!! How are my fellow 3 month'ers doing? Of course, it wouldn't be ME if I didn't worry about something. I almost feel this is too good to be true. Anyone else get that feeling????? Kit

Hi Kit, I am as they call us a "lurker" too! I am a 3 1/2 month'er...as you I am doing wonderful too! I am happy we are doing so well. When I read or hear about the horror stories it scares me to death! But as you said doing so well scares me too...I feel like this has been almost I hate to say it but it has been and easy ride for me. Truly I feel bad saying that when some people have had such a hard time with recoveries!! I weighed in today at my pcp and I have lost 98 pounds in 3 1/2 months...I asked my pcp if that was too much because some people have taken a year to lose 98 pounds, but she said everyone is different and my bloodwork as yours is beautiful, I go to the gym 4 days a week (1 of those days I devote to swimming with my daughter) and I feel 15 years younger!! So Kit, all we can do is keep up the good work...and we CAN feel proud of ourselves!! Good Luck to You, Susan

To all that responded to my post, sorry I haven't thanked you sooner! A week (or more) has gone by and I haven't been on the PC. Just getting around to it today. I know I missed a lot of "news." Shame on me!!!!! Susan, YOU are doing wonderful!!!!! All in all, you are really a success story. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! I too was told by my docs that everyone loses at a different rate. It still amazes me how easily (and fast!) I am losing weight. I feel much better too! And yes, we are both fortunate that we have been problem free. I know we are relatively "newbies" and in that "honeymoon" period but my goal is to just take one day at a time and do my best to stay with the WLS program and remain healthy! In case I don't get back to this site before the holiday -- which is a real possibility (grin!) -- HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL MY OH BUDDIES!!!! Kit

Elissa, With you as my surgery angel, I really have to thank you PERSONALLY for all the ways you helped me! It can be such a scary adventure and people like you who are farther out from surgery and have successful outcomes are truly an inspiration. Your tips, advice and just plain "cheerleading" makes this road to health much easier to travel! So sweetie, here's a great big HOORAY!!! for you! Lisa (Kit)

Hi Lisa I had my 3 month also. I was down 63lbs. and labs were good. Protein was low-normal and iron was a little low. Everything else was GREAT! Glad to hear you are doing well, too! Keep it up... Dianne

Dianne, My dear hospital buddy -- you are doing GREAT! I quickly scanned the postings over the past week and I am sorry you had to undergo yet another EGD. But I am glad your ulcer is getting better! I had an ulcer quite awhile ago, pre-surgery, and I know it can be painful. And about your sister...she is in my thoughts and prayers. I had kidney stones 2 years ago and had to be hospitalized too. Luckily, I passed mine without surgery but it was VERY rough! The only advice I have is to take one day at a time, follow doctors orders and hopefully you will both be feeling better VERY SOON!!!!!!

Hi Kit, I had my surgery on the 19th and I am doing great also!! Praise God!! I am down 55 pounds and went from a size 24 to size 18 (and some 16's). My fingers have shrunk as well as my feet. I am off all my blood pressure meds. My joints don't ache! My hair is shedding a little now but not much. I also have a funny pulling/pressure in my left upper chest. It only occurs if I lay on my left side in bed --other wise I don't feel it. I am having a CT Scan today to r/o anything else going on. Wish me luck. I am very nervous. I was wondering if anyone is interested in having a clothes sale for the winter things they no longer want. I will post more about that later. I have a ton of beautiful tops, skirts etc. Well, Kit keep up the good work! Let's touch base again at 6 months. Have a wonderful holiday season!

Terre, It's a blessing, isn't it? To FINALLY feel better, reduce or go off meds, etc. I am so glad you are doing so well too. Stay on top of the problems you have mentioned, and I am sure with your determination you will do fine! I hope your CT scan went OK. (I am so sorry I was not up to date with things). I "downsized" in clothing sizes too...I could not believe that I was actually trying on things that were several sizes smaller but yet still too big! I am sure the sales help was ready to call security as I giggled with glee -- And you know what is the strangest thing? I just washed the smaller clothes I bought and as I was folding them, looked at the waistbands and shoulders, etc. and said to myself "boy, this stuff shrunk!" But guess what, it didn't - I DID!
