Update
Hi all,
Can you say a crazy couple of days? I was able to get in to see my sister yesterday. She is still in ICU. Final DX is that she had a mild heart attack which in turn caused a blood clot to be released which went to her main artery and caused the stroke. I spoke to her and she opened her eyes and squezed my hand, that is her only means of communication right now. Looks like the right side is completely paralyzed, not sure if it will stay that way. My husband was with me and I told her "look, I brought Sam" and she turned her head and rolled her eyes so that she could see him. She is still in there somewhere. They removed the vent late last night and she is breathing on her own.
We were finishing up the last of the games for the concession stand we do at the high school, it pretty much fell to me to get the last big game of the season organized. Between me and my niece we got it done. I made another huge vat of chili again yesterday lol...sold every last drop too. I'm happy to say the evening was a rousing success and we made $1,600...with a grand total of $6,000 for the season.
Surgery wise I have been coping well and eating well. I had some extra Isopure with me last night to make sure I keep my protein levels up. I pay close attention to breakfast with my loaded oatmeal to start off right. Anytime I have eaten out I've made good choices so I'm very happy with how that part is coming along. Too bad I had to test my stress eating coping skills with all this, I'm happy to report it hasn't been a problem. We will make it through, we always do somehow.
Life will never be the same but we will adjust and find other ways to get things done and enjoy life. I did have some mozzerella sticks for dinner last night..deep fried and I enjoyed every last bite LOL.
Well, I have gotten everyone else's house in order, I guess it's time to get busy on mine. Maaaan, I am SO glad this band season is over...gee..only one more week till indoor drumline starts.... Hope you're all well and happy. The prayers and good thoughts are working..thank you!
Linda
Linda, Wheew, Crazy week indeed. Glad your sis is hanging in. Wow a heart attack then a stroke. She must be strong willed to survive all that and a blood clot too. Lots of therapy and time will heal. Prayers are being said for her quick recovery.
Now for you. May I recommend a little R & R for you too. Staying active and busy is good for the soul & body. Try to remember to take a little time for yourself too. Listen to who's giving advice. Well do as I say and not as I do. We all love you and need you around for a long time.

Linda,
Whew!!! What a week! Please know that I continue to keep you, your sister, and the rest of your family close in my prayers. Staying busy is good, but God also gave us a day of rest for a reason. So take heed of the makers plan for what is good for us and work hard, but rest equally as "hard". Isn't this surgery wonderful ... we now have the energy to do so more and the stamina to endure stresses that would have been so much harder on us not too long ago. But even still Linda, remember you are not Superman (Carla has the rights to that on her page ) ... so remember to take good care of yourself also during all of this. Okay?
Again, if there is anything I can do, please let me know. Those are not just a flip saying, but rather, but honest words from the heart. I would count it an honor to help you out. So don't hesitate to let me know how I may help fill a need!
Hugs,
Tammy
