Thank You...

Just a quick note to let you know that I don't usually read this board, for a variety of reasons. But due to the response i have received over the last several weeks, i felt i should take a look, so look i did. You people are amazing! i so appreciate all of you, how hard you work, how wonderful you are to each other, and how you made me feel welcomed as a part of your community. it's nice to see that i've touched a few lives because all of you have touched mine. So thank you sooo much. i am off to pinehurst, north carolina tomorrow, and i'm taking a little piece of each of you with me. like it or not. leaving was not an easy decision, and you are all a big reason it was as difficult as it was to make the choice. it's simply a lifestyle thing. you are all blessed to have each other, and to have such wonderful surgeons as gail, isaias, and mike. you will continue to get the best care possible, just as you did before i was in the picture. i hope you will all keep in touch [email protected] i can't give medical advice, but i'd love to hear news, how things are going, gossip, and see pictures and hear about your progress. i will respond to every email i get, i promise. i hope that all of you will be able to attend happy hour tomorrow, and if not, you'll be in my thoughts anyway. this is not good bye, just see ya later. keep in touch...i won't be on the board much, but i may just pop by to read up on you guys...and remember...i do hear everything b.

Hi Brett, I agree with Elissa, you're definitely one of the best. I gotta say I always appreciated your tell it like it is style, it made this whole journey SOOOO much easier for me I can't even begin to tell you. We're gonna miss you, but since we have email we can hunt you down lol...hunting you down for good reasons that is. Hmm, I can only think of one bad reason I was ready to hunt you down and that was when you came in and poked at my drain the day after surgery. LOL if I wasn't moving so slow I'd have jumped up and smacked ya one right then and there...LOL and to add insult to injury you made me tell you if I remembered WHY the damn thing hurt so bad when you poked it I wish you all the best in your new life and with your new patients. Hard to imagine there might be an even bigger group of goofballs out there than us, but anything's possible! for you Linda

Dear, Dear Brett!!! I am so glad you decided to pop your head in here and take a peek. Although I warn you ... it can get a bit scary at times especially when the gals start talking girl talk. I sure do hope you continue to pop in on us from time to time, as we are all going to miss you terribly. You have been a major influence in my life, as I am sure so many others will agree. It certainly is not going to be the same without you around here. Sure we will continue to get the best care possible, but we are losing you. And that my friend is a loss that stings! I sorta liken it to someone who is there for us when we go through a really hard time in life (such as a friend during a close death, a dissolved marriage, even a birth) The bonds that strengthen in a crisis. It is those bonds that are hard to come by, and I feel we have that kind of bond with you Brett because you have done so much to help us all through one of the most difficult and yet joyous times in our lives. Certainly one of the biggest years with unbelievable changes. Just a little story to share with you ... The first meeting when I met you I was just about bowled over at how much you looked like and acted like my oldest son BRAD. Gotta tell you, when started to do an exam of my stomach and I jumped (probably don't remember it) but anyway, I was totally freaked out at having someone *****minded me so much of my son touch my tummy!!! I should have said something then, but I was too shocked. I will have to get a picture for you to see for yourself. But even more than the looks were the personality traits that were the same. Same stance, same actions, same straight shoot from the hip talk, same posture, same voice, same age!!! Both hubby and I had to do a double take!!! Anyway, I say all of that to say to you THANK YOU BRETT!!! I truly do appreciate all your hard work, your time, and your concern. You my friend truly rock and I wish nothing for you less than the very best. And while we will miss you terribly, we totally understand and desire that you have only the very best. BUT PLEASE, please keep in touch with us ... you have become an integral part of our little DE family. Hugs, Tammy Anyone ready for another road trip???? I hear it is nice and warm down south!!!

Brett, I may not have known you as long as a lot of other people, but in the short time that i have known you, I truly appreciate all of your advice and support. You will definately be missed and you can add me to that list. I am looking forward to seeing you again friday night at the happy hour! Thank you Brett for posting your note! I knew you always cared about us and we all cared about you!!! I am down to 135lbs now and wearing a size 8 and I have to Thank you and the other docs for this new lease on life! I know you gave me a hard time once about something I was doing wrong and I took your advice and look where it got me. Thanks so much for your kind words and caring for us all!!! Hope Brown

Dude- I am so glad you dropped in! I am sorry I won't get to see you tonight for your "Happy Hour". Just know that I am thinking of you and wishing you the very best.
