Hello AMOS Family, I'm 11 months out and 162lbs down, I'm wondering if anyone at my stage is still having trouble tolerating water. I find whenever I drink regular water I still feel nauseous and my stomach feels queasy the same as it did after surgery. However, I have no problem at all drinking Chrystal Lite or Diet Ice-Tea. Any else? Also, I look forward to meeting everyone at the Support Meeting, Nov. 1st. This will be my first meeting in DE and I'm pretty syked about it. My new friend Valerie has been such a great support system for me being as though I'm from Philly, she gives me all the info I need to know. I couldn't have made it without her. Hugs & Sugars to ya Valerie. Shawna 380lbs/218lbs/goal weight 150???

Hi Shawna, almost 7 months out for me and regular water still makes me feel weird alot of the time. I do Crystal Light or decaf iced tea protein shakes etc. All that stuff counts toward my liquid intake so I don't worry about it. Glad you're coming to a PMRI! Linda

I'm glad to see that I'm not alone. It looks like we both drink alot of the same things. You're right that does count as my liquid intake so I'm going to stick with that until I can do water. Thanks much Linda...

Hi Shawna, I find that I cannot drink cold water. It's weird. I can do ice without any problems however drinking ice cold water hurts my pouch. I drink it at almost room temperature. Then there is no problem, except when I tend to drink too fast. I drink water more than anything. I have a lot of different crystal light and sugar free kool-aid, however I tend to resort towards water. Sorry I wont be able to meet you, I will not be at the Nov 1st meeting. Have a great time, the PMRI meetings are really informative. ~Shelly

Shawna, At firs****er was almost impossible for me to get in. I did A LOT of crushed ice. Then I went through a period of warm working the best. I drank a lot of Crystal light lemonade warmed in the microwave in a mug. Then, I figured out that when I was a bit dehydrated, water (or any beverage for that matter, but especially water) was harder to get in without making me even more nauseous. It seems that if I happen to have a day where I am not able to get in my fluids because of schedule and thus am a bit on the dehydrated side, when I try to reintroduce plain water, it sits real hard on my pouch.. So obviously I try my best to avoid getting into those situations and carry my bottle of water with me everywhere I go (with an extra one tucked away for good measure). At this point, I don't have a problem getting in any of my fluids however I have found that early in the morning, water will not sit as well. But after I have something warm, then I can get the rest of my daily water in without problems. I tend to prefer it over anything else, it is the only thing that really quenches my thirst. Good to hear you have not had problems with the other fluids. I relied heavily on crystal light and etc for a long time also. Hugs, Tammy

Shawna, WOW Congrats on your wonderful loss!!! I am 8 months out and water is just nasty to me. I HAVE to put some crystal light in it... actually what I am doing now is: Ice, 32 oz of water and about 10 oz of tropicana light lemonade. Makes it go down nice that way. I dont know... it just feels nasty on my pouch. I know I got turned off of water when I was first out of surgery because of it hurting my pouch... but I guess the effect never really wore off. Your definitely not alone Elizabeth M 334/231/???
