Strange Pain
For the past two days I have experienced this strange pain under my left breast bone. The pain is localized to that specific area and sometimes when I try to turn or move it just feels weird like something is out of place. I don't know if it's gas pain or what. I can still drink and eat my pureed foods but sometimes if I take deep breaths I feel slight pain in that area but its only on my left side. Maybe I am just overreacting, I'm just worried because I'm 3 weeks post-op and suddenly I have this pain. Can anyone offer any insight or suggestions??
Hi Aisha,
I agree with Susan, call and have it checked out just to be sure. It could be anything from gas to irritation from where your drain came out. I can remember a weird pulling sensation on the left side from the drain area. Better to err on the side of being safe and give the doc's a ring today.

Hmm, never thought I'd find the occasion to tell someone that I hope they have gas. Wonder if Hallmark makes a card for that

Ditto call the doc.
I too had pain there for two different reasons. The day home from hospital I slept on it wrong and irritated it -- that is where they stitched the drain to you. Then a couple weeks out, I (mistakenly) ate watermelon and it was too fibrous and caused a pain in that region (that's where pouchy lies) and after the bowels moved, the pain went away. Hope you are feeling better by now.
Dianne
Aisha,
Hoping that all is well by now but I just wanted to let you know that I too had pain in that area ... that turned out to be nothing really. However, all the previous advice is absolutely right ... let the docs do what they do best and decide whether or not this is something to be concerned about. You are far too special to take a chance with your health. Please let us know how you are feeling/doing.
Hugs,
Tammy
