Hey everybody, My name is Christina and I am new to the board. Just doing all the research i can get my hands on about WLS I think this page.. the board is the 
BEST I have learned so much more from you all. I have wanted this surgery for some time now but family and friends urged my against it. This past July I was diagnosed with Diabetes ( I am 24yrs old). I have been doing some recent research on WLS and Diabetes, my thought is that if the fat cells in your body are not allowing the insulin and the sugar cells to be "friends" then if you eliminated the fat cells there should be no problem. I am glad to hear that FINALLY there is a report focused on it IN THE PUBLIC EYE. To be honest there is one thing i don't agree with, correct me if I'm wrong. We "jolly fat ppl" will do what it takes to be healthier, but is it not an insult to make us undergo phyco therepy, even ONE time?? Anyway I hope to soon have an appt with Dr. Irgau see what he says.

Welcome Christina.
You've come to the right place for questions and support. Are you able to make the PMRI meeting this Saturday? It is at 10AM. Location is Route 52 & 100. The meeting is about exercize. Cost is $5. Bring your hubby. You will both get a lot out of the meeting and can ask questions of any of the post-ops. We all love to share our experiences both good and bad. 
Make sure to identify yourself to us. You'll recognize us when you see us. We'll be the chatty & huggy people in the group with the biggest smiles.
