Do Protein drinks count as liquids?
OK, maybe I am having a senior moment even though I am only 46 but I need to take a poll on this. BECAUSE I AM CONFUSED....
I am finally solving my protein intake dilemna (I HOPE) by using the mixes from Dr. Iragu's office. Each day, I am doing a double dose of cappucino or hot chocolate (30 grams) with 16 oz of H20 and one soup usually cream of mushroom or tomato (15 grams) with 8 oz of H20.
Does the 24 ounces of water count towards my liquid intake? I hope so!
Yep, sure they count!!! Brett told me anything that turns to a liquid at room temp counts toward your liquid for the day. It is my understanind that the only exception to that rule is if you drink caffeine ... then you should drink two extra cups (I think that was the number) of water to negate the dehydrating effects of the caffeine. I have also read that if you are a regular caffeine drinker, that the caffeine does not have that effect on you so it would be invalid in that case. Gosh, guess you can pretty much read anything anywhere eh>??? GRIN
But anyway, yes your 28 oz count as fluids for the day!!!! YEAH!!! BTW even sf jello can count as fluids as do sf Popsicles!!! Enjoy yourself!!!
Thanks Tammy,
That really clears it up for me and actually makes me feel better that I am on the "right track." Brett and Danielle, the PMRI nutritionist, were very clear with me about the decaf tea and coffee (no more than 16oz. per day at most) because tea and coffee are favorites of mine. But I kind of forgot what they said about some other things. That's real interesting about the SF jello and popsicles too.
Have a wonderful and safe trip!
oops ... that would be 24 oz of liquids ... never was real swift in math!!!
Good night all ... I am finishing up and heading off to bed to leave out long before daybreak. Decided it would be best not to travel at night this time. You all have a beautiful weekend and an even better week following!!!
Hugs,
Tammy
