Greetings again dear friends, Does anyone care to share how they manage to get so much protein in during the day? What is your formula? Perhaps this information will help those newbies who are struggling to increase their levels correctly. Are you using mostly protein powder in drinks? Currently I eat 1pkg of the oatmeal from Dr Wynns office for breakfast (15gms); 2 pkts of cappacino from the doctors office in the morning while I see my patients at the hospital (30gms); lunch (7 to 10g,s);break is usually water; dinner (7 - 10 gms) and a hot chocolate at night (15 gms). Thanks for sharing! Terre

Terre, I use ProScore 100 and Champion Nutrition Whey Stack. I use enough of the powder to get 30 gms per scoop. I plan to add a bit more to up my intake for the day. I haven't really counted my food as a reliable source of protein just yet, since we have some malabsorption I rely on what I think is the most bio available source of protein (whey protein) for the bypass patients. I use my powder in about 6-8 oz of water and that works real well for me. I have also been doing them in my new smoothie maker by adding the water, powder and about 6 cubes of ice and I have what I consider a real treat. Yummy!!! I have heard of breaking up your protein into smaller servings such as 15 gms at a time, but I can't "eat" enough meals to get in enough protein that way ... so I just go for the gold and do 30 gms at a time. Did any of that make any sense at all??? *grin* Best wishes!!! Hugs, Tammy

That makes great sense! I am learning -- "baby steps" and realize I have to think outside of the "non-gbs" box. I will try to add more protein to my drinks and may have to break down and get a smoothie maker too! Rob has started us on something great here! Safe journey Tammy.

Terre, I had my surgery on 8/2 and I am down 40 pounds. My protein intake is very much like yours. I rely on the dr. mixes. A double dose of cappucino or hot chocolate, one soup -- each day. One Atkins Morning Start Bar a day too, which has 11-13 or so grams depending on flavor. The rest comes from my food choices. Interesting topic, I enjoy seeing others ideas! KIT

Hey Terre, I do three meals per day along with three protein drinks/shakes or bars. Each drink, shake or bar contains @ least 20-25 grams of protein. Or if I decide to have a snack or two instead....It's a high protein snack. Also, I might add Hood Carb Count down Milk to shakes to bump up the protein count. Also I add cheeses to bring up protein.... What are you eating for lunch and dinner that is giving you only 7-10 grams of protein? 1 oz of meat = 7grams of protein. Maybe throw in some protein snacks (peanut butter & low fat crackers, shredded beef jerky, soy chips, q-smart bars, peanuts, string cheese, pork skins, sardines and crackers).
