Gall Bladder Meds

I am still opening my gallbladder medication and taking it with crystal light peach tea on a spoon. It gets down fast and easy with no after taste. My question is should I still be opening the capsule? I wasn't sure. Thanks for everyones response!

Terre, I was released to swallow the capsule whole at my 1 month appointment. However, I think things may have changed since then, since I heard at the Aug? Sept? PMRI meeting that they wanted us to take all our vitamins in chewable or liquid form now. I think it would be best to call the office and ask just to make sure since policy seems to have just recently changed on at least the vitamins. I think it is wonderful that you are not having problems getting it down. I could not find a good way to get mine in. It tasted horrible ... I had a horrible time trying to get it down. As soon as I took it, it came back up. After I was released to swallow the tablet, I was pulled off of it anyway, I had a terrible allergic reaction to it. My body was broken out in the most horrible rash, hives ... and believe me that was worse than even the nasty taste. So glad to be past that now!!! Hugs, Tammy

Hey Terre - Brett emphasized at Monday's meeting that we are NOT to take pills or capsules. However, I've found that Stanton Pharmacy and I know there are others, who are willing to 'compound' the meds into a liquid..with a flavor to make it slightly more palatable. Hope this helps...
