Hunger Poll
Hi Linda!
I don't really feel hungry...except when i am laying down getting ready for bed, but i think it may be because i am laying down......i don't know. I guess i am just trying to get used to the new sounds of my "pouchie poo". lol All in all though, i definately do not feel hungry at 6 weeks out!

Linda, I'm 9 months out now. I still don't feel hungry or full. Still eating by the clock too. Get a little upset if I go off the clock too. I am so used to getting in my protein and food, it feels almost sacreligous if I miss something. I have to work on my water more. I don't think I'm getting in enough. ((HUGS)) Elissa
Ok, so why do I feel hungry every 2 hours????? UGH! It makes me nuts and yes, it's real hunger pains, sometimes with growling, sometimes without but almost always with the shakes if I go much over 2 hours. I've heard it said, this may stop after I'm through the 'starvation mode'.
I've tried include carbs to make me feel a little fuller and I always get a minimum of 80 grams and usually a 100 grams of protein or more each day.
PLease, God, I'm tired of being hungry!
Valerie
Hey Linda,
Good question... Almost missed it with all the activity on this site. I'm 1 year out tomorrow. I eat my six meals per day as ordered about every three hours. I started to feel the hunger sensation around month nine and now I just have to make sure that I stay on routine. I prefer the hunger sensation to the craving syndrome that I hear so many people talk about. The other thing that has become critical is portion control since pouch control has been gone for so long. I feel sometimes like I'm back on a diet, although now at least I can exercise to work through the hunger and I also drink a lot of water and crystal lite to keep me full.

Linda,
Mostly up to this point, I have not had a lot of actual physical hunger unless I have really missed meals (which I have a tendency to do at times - not good I know). However, head hunger ha**** me more than a time or two. And it can be a hard thing to try to stave off, but with our new little pouch it is so much easier than when I was pre-op!!! At any rate, more than actual hunger, I have noticed that my tummy gets a bit sick if I let too much time go between "meals". So I try to get at least a little something (protein) in every few hours. I find if I keep something in there and don't get to that point, then I feel so much better, I eat better and I have less head hunger.
Now for the actual hunger ... I have noticed the past few days that I am feeling a little more like eating and for me this is a real blessing. I have been able to up my calories a bit (much needed) and am starting to be able to get in a little more than just protein at meals (adding some complex carbs). My weight loss plateau has started moving down once again - although slowly! But it is so good to see those scales moving!!! It gives me a bit of hope!!! Perhaps my problem truly was that I was not getting enough calories to sustain my body and it went into rebellion (starvation mode)? And/or the more balanced meals are helping my body to do what it should be doing. Not real sure of anything at this point, still just pulling straws and hoping beyond hope that it will continue to work. Although deep down, I am one to still think, calories in - calories out, make most of the difference, but obviously with this last plateau that can not always be the case??? Who knows ...
BUT - I FEEL GREAT and am still so very thankful for the gift of this "tool" ... without it, I would not be anywhere near where I am today!!!
Just told hubby yesterday, that I am starting to feel more confident in my own skin and that feels really good!!! Ya know?
Hugs,
Tammy
Linda,
I feel hungry at certain times. Lunch time is always 12:30PM and if I go passed that I feel hungry. I think that is a condition response for me. I try to get at least 5 meals in a day. 6 is still tough for me. I get at least 64 oz of liquid in each day and if I need more I try and pu**** rather than the food. My protein count is around 60-80. I find it hard to get 100 grams a day in. I wish I could be more disciplined with eating and drinking.
