re: PMRI Brett's farewell mtg
Everytime I've attended this meeting topic, I learn something new. Wasn't I listening the other 3 times?? Last night was Brett's last meeting at PMRI. He announced that he has taken a new job in Pinehurst, North Carolina. His last day at CHRIAS will be October 30th. Mrs. Gordon, Brett's Mom, was there for the meeting. What a sweetheart. She had Gastric bypass surgery and looks super. He was presented a farewell cake after the meeting, sugar free of course. We didn't want him leaving without tasting the dreaded Actigall in applesauce. He was a trooper and ate it and agreed that it is nasty. What a great sport. I think I told him I don't get mad, just even. REVENGE is sweet. ((heeheehee)) Now he knows how we feel.
He wants to make sure we DO PLENTY OF WALKING. He's gonna have a spy reporting to him on our progress. So no slackers after he leaves. I am gonna miss him. The Doctor's did their magic, but Brett has kept me grounded though my journey.
All the posties are looking fabulous. All the pre-ops , and there are alot coming through this journey, looked anxious and had loads of quesrions.
I'm leaving for Texas and will return late Monday night. Hope everyone has a good weekend. ((HUGS)) Elissa
I will miss Brett also. I agree, both times I attended his 3 month meeting I came away with something new. Sorry I missed last nights meeting, week days are hard for me right now since I am the main employee of Mom's Taxi Company lol
I appreciated Brett's straightforward "because I said so" style hmm seems Ionly wanted to smack him once and that was the day after surgery when he came in and gave my drain a poke...OMG talk about going thru the roof with pain! LOL as I was complaining , he QUIZZED me to see if I knew WHY I was in such pain. I aced the exam by telling him it was because the tip of the drain is so close to the diaphram where a gazillion nerve endings are. Jeeeez, what a guy.
Brett, if you're reading this, I wish you much happiness in your move and success in your new job. Take care of your new people as well as you cared for us. Oh, and DON'T poke them!
Linda
Elissa,
Have a great time in Texas. Missed everyone last night. I'm having a great time in Tampa. Getting ready to go out on the boat in Tarpon Springs.
I agree with you about Brett. I really am going to miss him. He has helped me so much! Oh boy, here come the tears. I am such a marshmallow. I hope someone took a picture of Brett with the actigall!
Love ya,
Deb
Damn, Elissa!
We never thought of the camera! Geez - nothing to remember him by....ok, so maybe his sense of humor. Brett told me I'd hate him the 1st month, guess what? I'm about 5 weeks out and I'm still waiting to hate him. He is honest, always and that's the most important thing.
So, to all you newbies, if you have an appt with Brett, listen to him. He knows what he is talking about.
And, even though he doesn't want to admit it, he's a good guy!
This was my 2nd meeting of this topic and I got a lot of good info from it! The meetings keep us sharp! Gonna miss Brett......oh well, who do I get to break in next?
