I did it!
I was such a wonderful feeling when I crossed that finish line... I started to cry. I just could not imagine myself ever being able to do something like this. I would have always been the volunteer working behind the scenes never the one in the spotlight. I sure does feel good! We'll get you out there with us soon!!
Maybe we can have a "big" team next year, or at least a "formerly big" team. Need to start looking for "volunteers". Your right about crossing that finish line. I couldn't remember when I had actually decided to achieve something, and then actually accomplished it. Luckily, my wife was crying for me and hugging me as I crossed that line, and I was so rain soaked, nobody really noticed the tears of joy. My primary doctor was in the ride so I got to see her on Sunday (and she was incredulous that I finished), but I just wish that Dr. Irgaau had been there. Can't wait to let him know what he started. Not sure if I'm going to be doing a lot more outside cycling especially over the winter, so I might be looking for another goal. No more sitting on the sidelines.
