Carmel Apple Salad Recipe - YUMMY
Hey guys ... I happened across this recipe for Carmel Apple Salad on the main board that sounded so good. Since I had been craving Carmel apples for a long time I tried it immediately. (I had missed dinner and needed to eat something and nothing sounded good, so I had been putting off eating, that is until I saw that recipe.)
Carmel Apple Salad
4-5 apples cored, peeled and chunked
1 container of cool whip (I used the light version - 1 gm of sugar per 2 tablespoons)
1 box of sugar free Jello butterscotch pudding (dry)
chopped peanuts (I didn't have them so I used cashews)
Whisk dry jello into cool whip, add apples and nuts and then get ready to ENJOY!!!!
Boy did this stuff was/is a major hit with me. As a matter of fact the whole family loved it. This is a definite keeper in my book, and will be going with me on my next potluck and likely will be added to my Thanksgiving menu.
This recipe was so timely for me, as I have been craving Carmel apples (with the season change and all). Although, I have not given into that craving ... and am so glad that I did not. Who knew I would find a better alternative that I think I like even better than an actual Carmel apple ... who knew??? At any rate, I wanted to share it with you guys. Obviously it is not the healthiest thing in the world with the cool whip, but it is a nice treat once in a while. Hope you all enjoy it as much as my family is.
Hugs,
Tammy
