FINALLY - Century Club Member - YIPPIE!!!
Okay guys ... I have finally did it!!!!
I am now an unofficial - official member of the century club!!! Granted that this weight is on my home scale, totally in the buff, AFTER I have ummm how do I say this nicely, okay after I go potty in the morning, leaning a bit to the right, and holding my breath all the while holding my hair off to the right, just as to not add any additional weight to the scale. *grin* At any rate ... I have not posted this for a few days because I wanted to be sure that it was not a fluke, but rather the scale was going to hold down there and not bounce back up.
At any rate, I am thrilled to finally hit it!!! It seems like it has been so slow when I compare myself to everyone else ... but serves me right for comparing!!! Not a good idea ... read - don't torture yourself that way new post-ops and pre-ops. This is such a wonderful journey, please, please, don't lose a minute of your joy by allowing yourself to compare your journey with anyone else. Each journey is totally unique and should be full of joy. Enjoy it to the max!!! When I actually put my numbers on paper, I am reminded that I have lost 75% of my excess weight at just 10.5 months out. I would have never been able to do that without this help. I am very blessed. Thank you again, Dr Irgau, Dr Wynn, Brett and everyone here that has put up with me all this time.
Okay, now for the real kicker in all of this ... I posted a NEW PICTURE on my journal page ... kind of a cheesecake photo according to a good friend of mine. I am wearing something I have not had on my body since middle school. But I just had to do it to celebrate my membership into the century club. Please take a peek and tell me what you think!
Hugs, and again, thanks everyone!

TAmmy,
CONGRATULATIONS ARE CERTAINLY IN ORDER!!!!
You look great and be proud of those 100 pounds, especially as they have taken work, committment, prayer, and diligence. It is so wonderful to see that everyone encourages one another on this site. And you are always right there as one of the first "posties" when someone else needs a boost. Keep up the good work and know that everyone is standing in agreement for you to reach 100%.
I can't imagine getting into something I wore in middle school. That is pretty exciting. I got married at 18 in a mini dress. But that dress bit the dust years ago. But my husband of 32 years will go shopping with me (something he loathes) if I can get in one again!!!
Stay encouraged and no matter how you got to claim the century club it is a marker that you will never have to pass beyond again.
God Bless,
Mama
Mama,
Yeah, hubby went shopping with me also ... and he hates shopping for clothes too!!! Guess he figured he had a stake in my wardrobe! *grin*
Go to goodwill and find a wedding mini dress look-a-like and use it for your incentive. It is fun and it really helps me to have something that is too small that I keep handy and try on and watch the cycle of not fitting because it is too small right through to getting too big and giving it away.
It really means a lot to me that you are standing in agreement with me on continued loss. Thanks so much for that and for all your wonderfully encouraging words. Means more than I can express in words.
Hugs,
Tammy
Kimberly,
Thanks so much for your encouraging words ... means a lot to me.
About losing hair, yes, I did go through a short period that I lost hair. It worried me a bit at first, after all, even one hair seemed like a thousand, especially since each hair was long. I upped my protein even higher and upped my biotin and the loss seemed to slow down. Not sure I can attribute the slowing/stopping to that though. Perhaps I have just been fortunate with good genes, my grandma was Native American and had the most luscious mane of hair I have ever seen, even though my mom deals with severe thinning ... who knows. At any rate, it is my understanding that hair cycles in 90 day cycles. So if you have your protein levels up you should notice a change starting in that time frame. I have tons of short little hairs on my head right now ... you should see me when it is humid ... they tend to want to stick out all over ... truly a weird look. But hey, I will take it!!! I just call them my new winter hair!!!
Take care!!! Sure do miss you around these parts!!!
Hugs,
Tammy
Wow,
100lbs. awesome. Who is the woman on Tammy's journal? Amazing transformation and your healthy to boot. It's a great post and your clothes shopping description really hits home. It's amazing to go into some of those stores that I never ventured into prior to surgery and to find out there is some variety to the type of clothing you can buy. Also loved your home weigh-in description. I love to weigh-in every morning and have found that if you hop on one foot prior to getting on the scale you get a lower reading on the scale. Keep marching along.
