Rob Can you give me step-by-step on the smoothie making process? Do you use a blender? I have the "hand-held wand" and a food processor, but no blender. But if I can get the smoothies to taste decent and drink them regularly, I'd be glad to buy one. I have frozen berries and am going to buy some davinci syrups, too. Dianne

I look forward to hearing Rob's tips! But, I did learn something new..thats helped me out...I was watching my local smoothie maker and seeing how they made them soooooo good. My problems have always been getting too frothy of a drink. Well, when I make one now..this is what I do... thawed frozen strawberries w/ splenda added Banana about 3/4 to 1 cup of crushed ice(NOT ICE CUBES) and about a 1/4 cup of water and protein mix ( I have been using Unjury 1 scoop, or 2 scoops of Strawberry cream IsoPure); The great thing..is that it mixes so great..the ice really makes a difference..NOT USING CUBES. I get no foam now..and make sure you don't use too much water as well...then you will get too much foam. Now...I'm thirsty..I better go make my shake! Hugs, Kimberly

The more water you leave out, the thicker the smoothie, until it gets to be almost like strawberry ice cream. Yummm. Rob

Using a blender or smoothie maker? I would have thought to use milk and protein powder, so you use water? So I should crush the cubes before mixing? Dianne

Hi Dianne, I use a Smoothie Maker (made by Back to Basic). My family uses the machine more than anything in the kitchen. In fact, we burned out the motor on the original one I had. Here is how I make my Chocolate Raspberry smoothie. I use about 3/4 cup of Silk Soy Milk, and then add a scoopful of protein mix (about 30g protein). I then add a couple shots of Davinci raspberry syrup, a 1/2 cup of frozen raspberries from Trader Joe's. I then take about 2/3 cup of crushed ice (I have an ice maker on the fridge). Turn the smoothie maker on for about 20 seconds, and voila! Smoothie! An orange pineapple smoothie consists of 2/3 cup of soy milk, scoop of protein, frozen pineapple from Trader Joes, couple shots of orange Davinci syrup, and a bunch of crushed ice. Orange freeze. I also make a Chocolate Peanut smoothie. Again, 3/4 cup of Silk Soy Milk, scoopful of protein mix, couple shots of Davinci English Toffee syrup, a glob of Better Than Peanut Butter from Trader Joe's, and 2/3 cup of crushed ice. I do two smoothies a day...Rob ::

Hi Rob Those smoothies sound delicious. Looks like I have to go shopping. Would I be able to have these when I return home from having the surgery? I want to be prepared when the time comes. It sounds like I would be able to replace my ice cream addiction with a healthy smoothie addiction. this is everyone enjoying a smoothie. Rose PS: Thanks again for being one of the guest speakers on Saturday. I learned alot from the info you shared.

Thanks so much for the smoothie recipes Rob! By the way I want to thank you to for the concept of not going out to eat but to "Dine". I have been "dining" out more and enjoying it!! TGIF has some wonderful Atkins meals on the menu. Take care!
