My Surgery is Sept. 27 at 9AM
I have been sort of a lurker here, but now have some good news to post.
On the 27th of this month I will have a "Blood Clot" filter installed through my leg at 8AM then I will be rolled up to the Operating room at 9AM for my Gastric Bypass.
I have my special bag all packed with 11lbs of protein powder, vitamins, liquid forms of several of my meds and some baby food with small baby food spoons.
My girlfriend will be taking care of me for the first two weeks then I figure I can come back home and take care of myself.
How do I feel, a little nervous about being put asleep but other than that very positive. Dr. Wynn is great and really puts me at ease talking too her.

Tom,
Great news ... the end of the month will be here before you know it!!!
Dr Wynn and Dr Irgau are an excellent team ... all the way around! They will take excellent care of you.
Make sure you have some sf liquids (ie crystal light, fruit 2O etc) in your bag. Perhaps may even want to include some of the soups and or hot chocolates from the docs office. My pouch went from wanting nothing but chopped ice to needing something warm. It was kinda flaky in the very beginning. At any rate, be prepared to try something else if one thing does not work for you. Funny as it sounds ... one of the best things that worked for me right off was warming up water in the microwave and adding crystal light lemonade and a pkt of splenda. Somehow that went down better than just about anything. Just trying to give you (and your girlfriend) some ideas just in case you find you need them.
Wishing you the best!
Tammy
Thanks to all the good wishes from everyone. I cannot make meetings up in New Castle as I live in Milford, DE about 80 miles south of everyone up there.
I chose to have my surgery at Christinia based on the good word I got about Dr. Wynn and her associate.
Yes, one last good meal of Pizza for me tonight and liquid for the next two days.
Again, thanks for all the best wishes from you all.
