What do I wear home from the hospital?

I really do think too much! I was pondering what to wear to travel home post-op. I probably won't want anything touching my middle so what did the women wear to go home after surgery? Don't worry. I'll run out of questions eventually.

Hi Cassandra, Anything with elastic and comfortable will be perfect. That's what I wore home. No Jeans, or anything snug. The incisions are very small (approx 1/2 inch) and will have bandages on them when you're released from the hospital so you don't really have to worry about having to wear something that doesn't touch your mi-section at all. Email me and I'll give you my #. Please call me anytime! Take care! Your big day will be here before you know it!!!!! Angie

What Angie said applied to me too. I wore sweat pants and an over sized T-shirt to the hospital and wore the same outfit home. Nothing bothered my tummy. I only had 5 or 6 steristrips on it and wasn't sore at all. I never bothered with a bra on the way home simply because I was too lazy to put it on lol. I have heard some people say that their bra line was irritated by the one steristrip at the top. Mine was fine tho and it never bothered me.

Hi Cassandra, The outfit I worn in was the same one I worn home....I was only in it for an hour or 2. Yes, sweats/T-shirt were great! Wear something roomy and comfty.

Ditto Plus remember that your stomach is actually a little bigger on the way out than when you checked in.

What comfy clothes you wear in can be worn home. The reason you might be a little bigger is because your belly is filled with gas so the Doc's can work a little easier. The IV's also bloat you a little. So wear something stretchy and loose. Remember to get chapstick. Don't bother with pj's or slippers, they supply both. Just bring a toothbrush, mouthwas & a comb. Cassandra, I wore the same clothes I wore to the hospital. Everyone that has said you will be bloated is right! I actually cut the front of my pants in two places and "expanded" them with safety pins. Borrowed scissors and pins from the nurses. I was glad the pants were old and my shirt was long in the front -- AND at least I gave the nurses a laugh! KIT Don't worry, there are never TOO many questions.
