I finally was able to eat something...
I haven't been able to eat since I went off pureed foods. For three weeks now I've everything except cream of wheat, a piece of cheese, or peanut butter. All other attempts at food were unsuccessful and I have been feeling really, really weak. I began to notice that even sipping water at my desk was causing a pain in the pouch. I called the office and spoke to Brett, I have an appt Thurs am to see him. I still have been choking down a protein drink or two per day and trying to get in water as best I could. Brett said if the liquids won't go or stay down to call and meet them immediately, but that is not the case.
Anyway, tonight, as always, I cooked dinner for the kids and attempted to eat some of it! First bite was rough and I had my doubts, but actually I ate one whole strip of broiled lemon pepper chicken as well as a small spoon of mashed potatoes and succotash! I'm feeling so much better right now, a successful feeding! Maybe it just took my pouch longer to heal and this is it - anyway I will still keep my appt with Brett on Thursday.
I feel like I should be in the Taco Bell commercial yelling to the world, "I'm Full!"

Hi Dianne,
I'm so glad you were able to eat something. It makes a world of difference in how you feel once that food gets in there ( by the way, broiled lemon pepper chicken sounds awesome and I'm putting that on my menu list for next week lol ) Hopefully it was just as you say, a delay in healing and taking you a smidge longer to be where you need to be. Glad you are following up with Brett to make sure there is nothing else going on. Hope you have a great Wednesday!

Hi Dianne. So glad that you are able to eat solid protein. It will help you stay "full" and satisfied longer. Everyone heals at their own pace - maybe your pouch just needed a little more TLC and is ready to go now.
Hope all goes well with your apptmt. tomorrow - keep us informed!!
((hugs)) Carla
