All cycled out today.
Today I drove down to Dover this morning and I participated in the Amish Country Bike Tour. I did the 50-mile loop in just under four hours. It was a lot of fun and it is really beautiful down there. A lot of the Amish children were sitting at the roadside and waving hello as all of us went on down the road. It was a tough ride, and I kept wondering during the first 15-miles why am I doing this? The head winds were really strong today, and sometimes you felt like you were just pedaling on a stationary bike.
At the rest stop at the Old Amish Schoolhouse, they had quite a spread of Amish treats (pies, muffins, cakes, cookies, etc.). Nothing that I could eat. Luckily I had brought my Trader Joe's Cinamon Graham Crackers with Better than Peanut Butter and gobbled that down. I ate pretty quick but it didn't seem to matter. Got to check with Brett next time I see him, to check in about whether it is acceptable to drink prior to the 30 minute window. My personal feeling is that it is much important to stay hydrated during the exercise than worry about mixing your intake. Who knows?
This one was practice. Next one is the big one.

Hey Rob, WOW>. that is terrific! Good for you, I know you must be so proud of yourself, and derservidly SO! (is that a word?? LOL) Anyway, keep up the fantastic work, the bike to the bay will be a breeze, if there are no headwinds
Btw.. Brett told me 20 minutes before and after eating to drink.. maybe that helps?
