I just wanted to say Thank you to all the ladies and gents that post to the web site. At this time I have my surgery date for oct 4th and I feel that I need all the food facts that I can learn about. I attended the 12 mistakes meeting last night and that was the most informed conversation I have heard about. Is there any book out there that might also help. I love to read and have a few gastric bypass books but they dont give to much information. I know I will have to wait for what the dr says but would like to do some reading before then. Thanks again for everyone posting, I am learning that there are good friends in numbers.

Hi Cynthia, Your date is coming up fast, congratulations! I don't have any books to recommend but I'm sure there will be someone here who can help you out in that area. Getting good info is critical and over time you will learn to separate it all out. Unfortunately alot of what you will hear is complete crap at times, if it sounds funky, it probably is lol. You will find sensible people here on the Delaware board who will... first: Always advise you to check things out with the good dr's at CHRIAS and second: tell you of their experiences and success with various methods of problem solving. I don't think there is anything that at least ONE person hasn't run across. Delaware board is the best. Glad you're here too! Linda

C- I just compiled a list of books that are helpful to gastric bypass patients. Next time you are in the office, ask at the front desk for a copy of the list. I am reading Exodus from Obesity, and I really like it. Congrats Nicki
