Hi Michele, It really isn't that bad at all. The procedure itself takes about 20 minutes. They give you a "wonder drug" and you really won't know anything is in your throat. You may have a sore throat the next day but it won't be too bad. Also, don't be surprised if you sleep most of the afternoon. I was so tired when i came home from my appointment. You'll do fine! We have great doctors and you are in terrific hands! Good luck!! -Joe-

Hi Michele, Yep, what Joe said. I never got a sore throat and the rest of the day I felt fine, never even took so much as a nap. it was a snap, hope yours is too. Linda

Hi Michelle - Better late than never! I have had 2 of these in the 6 weeks leading up to my surgery. Unfortunately, my IV wasn't placed properly so I never got my 'wonder drug' ( I was looking forward to my mini nap). I REQUESTED to do the 2nd procedure with no drugs as it was only 6 days before my surgery and Dr. Wynn and the nurse, both said I did wonderfully. 1st visit, slight scratchy throat the next day, 2nd visit, I went back to work and was fine, not even an itch in my throat! Best of luck! Valerie
