I am looking for a group of us from PMRI (and Delaware) to represent ourselves in the "JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes" on Sunday, October 31, 2004. There is a choice of a 3 mile or 5 mile loop at Rockford Park starting at 10am (check-in at 9am) Many of us have taken care of diabetes by having the gastric bypass surgery (I was pre-diabetic but certainly on my way). I am not looking for sponsors for this one. I am looking for some of you to participate. I would be honored to walk with every one of you, and figure that we are walking to leave Diabetes behind. I would also like to volunteer to walk for and represent some of the "premies" and "posties" in the group who I know would love to join us but can't because of joint and health problems. I think others would also serve as angels for this walk. It would be great if we could get PMRI, or Dr Irgaau/Wynn to sponsor us and get us all set-up with tee-shirts so that we could show our pride and represent their success. I will work on that part (maybe get a little help?). Let me know what you think. Can I count on any of you to meet me at the starting line? Registration packets can be picked up at most Wawa stores. This and the Bike to the Bay are the only two endeavors I have planned and hope that you don't get upset with my recent saturation of mail about these outings. These are two goals that I have set to accomplish in my first year of surgery. You are the people that have helped me get this far and wanted to share my success and your success. Your bud...Rob

Rob, I'm up for the challange. I do not walk fast though. It takes me about 20-23 minutes to walk a mile. I'll start practicing now. Elissa

Not sure how I missed this post since diabetes is an issue near and dear to my heart...although it's now far away from my body for the time being How do we go about joining this walk? Do we need sponsors? I'm definitely up for a 5 miler. let me know what it is I need to do. Linda
