Your Quit Date is:Saturday, December 28, 2002 at 8:00:00 PM Time Smoke-Free:609 days, 9 hours, 10 minutes and 13 seconds Cigarettes NOT smoked:15235 Lifetime Saved:3 months, 26 days, 9 hours Money Saved:$3,316.87 Cigarettes are so absent from my life now that I completely forgot I had a quitiversary yesterday! I will definitely take a moment to celebrate the loss but will NEVER say never again....see, I quit smoking for 5 years in my early 30's after being a smoker since I was in my early teens....stress and anxiety got the better of me one day and I lit one. BIG mistake, I spent the next three years trying to quit again. Enter weight loss surgery. I knew from researching the surgery that I would be asked to stop smoking and honestly I wasn't sure I had another long term quit in me. I made a deal with myself, if I could stop smoking for 6 months I would call a surgeon. I stopped cold turkey and called for a consult the following May...now almost 2 years as a non smoker and a 5 month post-op. If you struggle with the cigarette demon I want you to know it can be done! Soooo, if there is one thing I will never do, it's that I will NEVER say never again Linda 42 years old, smoke free and down 83 pounds!

Linda, Congratulations! This is awesome! I've never been a smoker (ok a few here & there in high school - but do they really count? I'm SURE I didn't inhale! ). LOL! And you know, I'm a non-drinker now, so...let the countdown begin! Valerie

Linda, You know you are so right. Never say never. I quit smoking about 11 years ago. Have to admit I went to a hypnotist. That was the first thing I did to get healthy. The WLS on January clinched the deal. I am down 113 lbs. A non-smoker and off Bp meds, cholesterol meds and sleep apnea needs to be re-diagnosed. I'm sure it's gone too. Look at all the money I'm saving. WOW!!! I guess I can go out and get something shiny & new. What will it be????? BIG GRIN!!! Thanks for the perspective Linda. I can always count on you for enlightenment. Elissa

Great job Linda!!! Of course, to come up with all of those stats, you really do have TOO much time on your hands! In all seriousness, that really is great news!! Way to go!! -Joe-

LOL smartass...actually I joined a very helpful site 2 years ago called www.quitnet.com . It has many nifty features for struggling quiters, including the stats lol. Turns out that Cecil County Health dept is a sponser so I got alot of the paid features for free. Now....don't you have a walk to take or some prunes to puree?
