Thank you ALL SO much!!
8/28/04
I cannot finds the right words to properly express the gratitude I feel toward the folks from this board. Never, ever did I expect to gain an entire circle of friends when I had this surgery. A new group of people who understand things about my life that no one else does. What a huge bonus!
Today's meeting was so special to me. It is a good thing I am 10 months out because I didn't hear much of what Brett had to say, my head was busy spinning.
I don't have everyone's home addresses but I would LOVE LOVE LOVE if if you could send me your addresses via my email - please??? I want to properly thank each of you that participated in anyway in our little "lawn party" today. Even if you weren't there when I opened your gift, please know that they all meant the world to me. I cannot express what it feels like to have received gifts for Amber from some folks that I have not even met in person yet. That is such an overwhelming and precious thing, thank you so much.
If anyone is wondering what I am babbling about it is the SUPRISE shower that many of you had for me today at the PMRI meeting for Amber. I feel like I must be one of the luckiest girls on the planet today. I mean, can you imagine - Debbie's 97 yr. old grandmother is making Amber a blanket? My mom crochets blankets for special occasions like this and I know how much effort that takes and she is not 97!
Well, I'd like to take a minute below to thank the folks that made this afternoon super extra special, Amber thanks you too - or should I say the Diva in-utero training thanks you!! ((Special thanks to Sue for helping keep track of who gave what so that thanking you could be possible!)) Again however - please email me your home address so I can send you a note!!
Nikki - thanks for the adorable ivory & white one piece - with a beret!! That is going to make the Cutest picture this winter - I can't wait!!
Ms. Kitty - I am so sorry that you missed the lawn event! lol. The rattle is Amber's first one and it is PERFECT. I love that if she drops it on her head it won't hurt.... Or if her big brothers drop it on her head..... lol - the towel & wash cloth are so cute too and I can't wait to put a picture into the frame. The head bows will be in the picture with the outfit from Nik!
Diane - those clothes are simply adorable, there is no other way to describe them. That pooh outfit is the best of the best too - and the shoes - they are so cute. Did you hear me say I don't think my boys even had shoes? I was serious! Not the first year or so anyway - this girl is going to have more pairs then mommy! BTW - the cookies for the Big Brother was the SWEETEST touch. They really liked them.
Gwen & Val - Sorry I missed talking to you at the meeting today. Thanks to Tonya for the cute bag too. Gwen I really enjoyed chatting with you yesterday at Dr. W's office too. I was not just being complimentary - you do not look anywhere near your age, (Not that there is anything wrong with your age!) I only hope I look that good when I am your age. Can I just say how much I love that soft pink princess outfit? I love the others too (especially the purple) but that pink & white one is my favorite thing for Amber so far of everything I have. It is the softest sweetest thing and I can't wait to be holding her in it.
Carla, the Pooh starter layette set is perfect. First for some reason I am on a pooh kick so that makes it extra cool - but it has something of everything I need. I also love that it has pants too. And the onsies are perfect. I was just thinking yesterday that I hoped I had enough and now I know that I will!
Tammy - that swaddling wrap is the greatest thing since sliced bread! My husband looked at it and he swears that he was an expert swaddler - but I don't remember that... This is one perfect blanket!
Linda - the little pink lamb outfit (or was it a poodle...? lol) is so cute - either way! The hat really makes the outfit because the ties on top look like little floppy ears. - Too cute!
Cassandra - this is one of the things I was talking about earlier. I don't think we met in person before today yet you got me a gift for the baby. That is one of the most incredibly sweetest things ever. I was so blown away by that type of generosity toward Amber & myself. I don't even know that we've talked that much on line. I'm very touched, thank you - the onsies, hats and blankets are so cute. I can't believe they make them to coordinate - I just never noticed this stuff before! I must have been blind to it with my boys!
Shay - you too, I know we have spoken online mostly on the message boards but it is like I'm a personal friend. The outfit is so dang cute too! I am really starting to love pastels, lace & butterflies! This is another thing I can't wait to slip her into.
Renay - I've enjoyed our conversations via email but again to have gotten a gift from someone I've never met - (let alone several) it is one of the most glorious feelings. Not the materialness of it but the generosity that comes from the heart that would make someone seek out an opportunity to get a gift for a child of a woman they've never met - God is blessing me so much! The baby washcloths are really needed too. I love the way they are so much softer then regular ones and I did not have any at all left from my boys. Thanks so much!
Tina & Elissa - Girls you are too too much!! Everything is wonderful from the bibs to the shower gel. I cannot wait to take a shower in the morning! You are so right about her being a princess, I can just see it now. That little pink floral outfit with footies is so cute and the watch me grow layette gowns are adorable. And all the baby bath stuff too! Thank you so much , really it was too much and I thank you with al my heart. ... now.... how about getting some highlights in my newly darker hair?....
Kristina Mackey - You have to forgive me, I need some pictures! We should make little pocket portfolios for everyone! I can't put your name with a face right now but I do know that the Prayer Bunny is the most precious thing. The prayer is of course perfect and it is so soft. I love that it unfolds into a little security blankie - I know she will love it as much as I do & the Pink footie PJ's are just so sweet - can you imagine her in them with the blankie?? I can't Wait!
Karen - Wowsa - that bunny is the most precious thing~!! Can you believe it was the first thing I went for LOL, it will bring her so much comfort. I could cuddle it all night! Especially since agent Steve & I are still on the outs! LOL. Multi function bunny - just like us! The clothes you got are so cute. I really love that one little dress - looks like it belongs on a china doll!
Debbie - How many ways can I say you rock! lol that bib is the most adorable thing ever. I would never want it to get dirty though - lots of Spray & Wash for that puppy! I cannot wait to pair the jeans & yellow top up with this little pair of black shoes from Walmart. They have a little scallop design and they will look so perfect!
Sue - last but not least! I am so glad we met through Steve. I can't wait to bring Amber to St. Mark's in that adorable outfit! I can't believe it is reversable too - it is like 2 dresses. This girl may never have to wear the same thing twice. You've all been so sweet!.
Love you, thanks again & email me your home addy's!!

Kathy,
You just made me cry! In case you don't know it, I absolutely adore you. You guys have made me feel like I have a new family. I think a large part of our success comes from the friendship and support of this fantastic group. Our how lucky are we to have the support of that fabulous Chrias team. God if really watching out for us.
Love always,
Deb
Kathy,
Truly, this is thanks enough. It was so sweet and well-written. You are welcome and Amber Wynn is welcome. You are a special person and I'm sure we'll get to know each other better in the near future - I may be living on the boards by next weekend!
Take care and God Bless you and your entire family.

I don't think you need to thank us anymore. The above post has obviously touched us all a great deal. Actually, I want to thank you. I thank you for taking such good care of yourself to welcome our first little WLS baby into this world (aka Diva in-utero -- too funny). I thank you for all the knowledge that I have received by reading your posts and profile. I thank you for sharing your life with us. And I'm looking forward to thanking you for bringing that little angel around for me to hold.
Dianne
Kathy, You are so welcome sweetie. Looks like we all had a great time. I had a great time shopping. Little girls are fun to buy for. I wanted to make sure you pampered yourself a little too.
OKay I guess we'll do the next makeover day in September. Anyone else up for it? We'll come up with a date, probably during the week!!! As soon as the little ones are back in school?? Elissa
