I just wanted to say that I could not have picked a better place to be today! The PMRI meeting was just what I needed to calm my increasing anxiety. I am having surgery on August 31 and this meeting today answered all my questions and calmed my fears. Plus you guys are so entertaining! That was the first time I met Brett. He must have been on vacation or sick when I had my pre-op visit last week. I'm glad I got to hear what he had to say. Today is my last day to eat real food. I feel like I should be pigging out or something, but I'm not. I am ready to start my journey! Betsy

Betsy Now that is such a great attitude! Don't pig out but DO enjoy your favorite thing as you may be wanting it afterwards, lol. Glad to hear your nerves are calmed now and the support is always here. Good luck to you. Dianne

Hi Betsy - your "re"birthday is the same as my birthday, I'll be 33 on Tuesday and I think I weigh less now then I did when I was half that age! I hope you enjoyed yoru last day of food pre-op but remember you will eat real food again. In moderation most people seem to tolerate almost anything. The only real thing I miss is ice cream - even the sugar free stuff bothers me a bit - although like i said the key is moderation since I can have a bite or two of even the "real" stuff. Take care & good luck as you start this new life!! ~ Kathy V.

Betsy... That IS a great attitude!! I'm so excited for you as you begin this fantastic journey...and we're so happy that we could be a part of it! Yeah, we can be entertaining (to say the least!) at our meetings. It's just that everybody is changing so dog-gone much that we act like fools when we see them walk thru the door! But it's so much fun!!! Be sure to take LOTS of pix of u'rself throught your journey. I know, I know....u probably HATE taking a picture right now...but you will be so thankful later that you recorded your metamorphis along the way. Let us know how everything goes, hon! Hi Betsy Wow. This Monday is your day! I will be keeping you in my prayers. Since you are ahead of me on the journey I don't have the advice that the others can give. All I can say is walk, walk, walk after the surgery. I think that is the message Brett wanted to make sure we got. Can we visit at the hospital? I work right down the street and would love to pop in to see you. Rose

Betsy- DO you have an angel? Who is your surgeon? I assume Dr. Wynn? I know the Dr. Peters or Brett should be the one assisting. Enjoy these next couple of days, because once you are on the losing side, you will NEVER be the same. I mean that all in a great and fantastic way. May you have a safe and speedy recovery. Nicki

Betsy, The meetings are great. It is something I look forward to. To see the posties and meet the newbies too. To get together and see all the physical & emotional changes that have occured since I started coming are absolutely amazing. The power of this group gives me such support & strength. I have to admit, I had a family renunion yesterday and I would have rather stayed at "Operation Pink" with my WLS family. Try to stay focused and positive. Your day will be here quickly. See you on the other side sweetie. Elissa
