It was great meeting everyone today at the meeting....

Hi everyone It was really great getting to meet everyone today. Everyone is so warm and friendly. I felt a little nervous this morning about going and not knowing anyone there. Thank you all for making me feel welcome. I learned soo much today. My mom and sister were really impressed with the whole meeting. I can't wait for the next meeting. Does anyone who has had the surgery have bad knees. If so, can you please give me advise on how you handled coming off your nsaids. If I am off vioxx for a week, I really feel crippled. Rose

Hi Rose, I had bad knees prior to surgery, I had been told by my ortho surgeon that I would need knee replacements in both knees and he was the one who suggested the GBS to help me get to a manageable weight to have the knee surgery. He had me on vioxx first, then bextra and when I had to stop the meds prior to surgery - I had a rough time of it - I tried xtra strngth Tylenol - which as you know, doesn't help even a little bit. I know it's not much help - but just hang in there...on the upside - amazingly after surgery, I have NOT had knee pain. I have talked to others that had been taking arthritis meds prior to and they say the same thing - no pain. So hopefully that will be the case for you. Take care and God Bless! ((hugs)) Carla
