Amber Wynn Update
Hi guys - had an OB appointment today & she sounded great & I'm measuring good too. Still losing a few pounds rather then gaining but no one is concerned at this point anymore. I have to start having weekly bio-physical profiles done to more closely monitor her. Basically they explained it as a mini ultrasound where they check leg/arm movement, lung/breathing function & fluid levels & if I score an 8 out of 8 everytime I get to come home! Oh boy! My OB also said that after I have her they eill make a case study out of the pregnancy because it occured so soon after the bypass. It seems I've always got to do something to get attention. He thinks I am Christiana's earliest pregnancy after bypass patient to deliver a baby so far. I am just so happy that so far the baby seems to have developed normally & healthy despited the malnutrition. For once I was really really lucky to be so fat I guess!! lol.
Girls - use birth control! Even if you think you can't concieve! (This should be my motto!) Not because I am sorry I am having Miss Amber, I'm not, but it is a hard thing to be preggers during the 1st year of your bypass. This is my 3rd baby and the pregnancy has had many more complications then with my two boys. You do not want to put yourself or your fetus/baby at risk uneccesarily. You really should do what you can to avoid pregnancy as suggested for at least 18 months after your bypass. I thought I would have a lot of trouble conceiveing just as in the past but you have to remember that rapid weight loss can make you "Super Fertile" as quoted to me by the head of Endocrinology.
Love ya!
