Pre-op questions??????

Hi everyone!!!!! I'm trying to figure out when I could possibly have surgery. I have my last pre-op appointment on Oct. 4th. For all you posties, how long was it between your last appointment and surgery?????? I called the office and they wouldn't even give me an estimate. I understand why but I really need to give my boss a guess at what month I'll be out. I work in a hospital and we are always short nurses so if I can try and find people to cover me when I'm out, it won't be so bad. Thanks so much for your help!!! Kym

I'm confussed Kym - I did not get a pre-op surgery appointment until my surgery was already scheduled. They usually schedule your last pre-op surgey appointment within 10 days or so of your surgery date. Have you already done all the PMRI appointments, cardiologist, pulmonary...etc. ?

Kym If you are talking about your last appt for pre op clearances as being 10/4, then you are well on your way. Is that appt for pulmonary clearance? If so, that may mean you have one or two sleep study tests to do and then maybe have to wait on a c-pap machine. If cardio, it means another appt to have a stress test done. Either way if you keep at it, the time moves quickly. I don't know at what date they are scheduling surgeries right now but you could call them and ask if you were completely finished, what would the soonest date of surgery be. Maybe that's what you wanted to know, but as stated above some of the pre op clearances take more than just a visit. Good luck.
