Hi Denice, If all goes well at your appontment they will more than likely clear you to move on from pureed foods. They will give you a sheet with a 3 stage diet progression on it with food suggestions, usually beginning with things that have a bit more texture. Bigger chunks in scrambled eggs etc. I progressed fairly quickly as I didn't have any real problems introducing new foods. Just remember to chew everything to death. Linda

OMG I can't wait to chew something! I go back 8/30 and hope it's a go then. It really hasn't been too bad, but I am getting quite bored with the puree diet. When ok'd the first thing I want is the Spicy Tai Chicken Salad I'm seeing on the commercials for Wendys, lol. How do you guys know how much to eat? I'm only eating two ounces at a time now, I don't think I'll always eat that little--but do not want to eat too much. Will pouchie help me know the difference, because it tells me NOTHING now. I eat by clock and measuring cup, never hungy/never full. (sorry for the hi-jack) Just hoping there is life after puree... Dianne

Oh - heck yeah.. pouchy will SO tell you when you've had too much. Of course it may be a little too late to do anything abotu it but get rid of it...so to speak. The good news is if you eat too much & need to expel it - it is not all that bad & you will feel better right away. How much you can eat will depend greatly on WHAT you are eating. As far as a dense protein like beef or chicken - you will be able to eat less of that then something like lettuce or mashed potatoes for example. Think of the pouch kind of like a funnel - food is going to go into your pouch & come out at different rates based on it's density. A dense protein will take less to make you full & keep you feeling fuller longer. I was never really able to tell if I was "full" on the puree stage. After I started eating denser foods it was easier to tell. Lots of life to be had after puree. Dinner tonight was 3 chunks of sesame chicken takeout -YUMMY.
