"HERE'S TO GOOD FRIENDS!"
Hi everyone and thank you so much for all the helpful pureed ideas for my week 3. I enjoyed 2 oz of crabmeat with old bay and a little mayo for lunch today and was it good! I also bought some turkey meatballs which are 18 gms of protein for 3. I found that the low carb products are also low in sugar so I picked up some marinade sauce and spaghetti.
Her is the recipe I promised. It is from our cooking class at PMRI compliments of Julie Walenta RD
SPARKLING ORANGE PROTEIN SHAKE
12 oz diet orange soda (let some of the carbonation out by leaving the bottle open in the frig)
6oz light, fat free orange-flavored yogurt (orange mango and I have even added peach)
1 scoop (about 24g. of protein) vanilla protein powder (whey or soy)
1/2 orange, peeled
6 ice cubes
Pour orange soda in blender. Then add yogurt and protein powder; blend on medium speed for 15 seconds.
Add peel orange and blend for 30 more seconds. Add ice cubes and blend on high speed until smooth, about 30 more seconds.
Pour into a tall glass, serve and enjoy!
