I have seen that several people mention panni problems on their pages. Exactly, what is this, and what causes it? Thank you, Renay

Hi Renay, A Panni is the lower part of your stomach and I believe everyone is talking about the excess skin after weightloss. It is a very common problem. I am having mine removed this Thursday via abdominalplasty and also having my thighs done. A lot of the time the "panni" removal is covered by insurance after gastric bypass. Hope this helps. Peace~ Hope

Thank you, Hope. What Plastic Surgeon do you suggest I talk with if the time comes that I need work done as well? Thanks again, Renay

Welcome Renay. There is another person that comes to the Delaware support meetings that also had her surgery at HUP in Philadelphia, Janet. We don't discriminate. Cept you might change your mind and have your surgery here after you meet all of us. I have the over hanging belly skin or Panni and droopy boobs. Luckily clothes are hiding it for now, I'm 6 months out and down 111 lbs. Don't even think about plastic surgery until you are at your goal weight or at least 1 year out. My thighs & legs are in good shape. Lots of exercise firms you up, but in the end it's the elasticity in the skin that rules. LOL. Elissa

Elissa, I went to my HUP support group meeting this morning. I enjoyed it, and hope to join you folks on Monday. Plastic Surgery and sagging skin was one of the things we ended up talking about. Our program coordinator recommends that we wait at least 18 months before beginning a PS process because our weights need to stabalize. She said, "who wants to end up having to have two surgeries?" Also, people talked about using firming lotions, cocoa butter, and shea butter to help treat the skin as we loose. Hey, it doesn't hurt. Me, I know that I will at least need a breast lift, because I really need one NOW. While I am only 33 years old, I hit puberty early and developed early as well. Therefore, I've always had heavy breasts, and they have been loosing their fight with gravity for the last couple of years. In a few years, I hope to have a breast lift and reduction if I need it. I'm waiting because the weight lose may make it so that I don't need the reduction, and then I'll just need the lift. Anyway, I thank you folks for your support, and I look forward to meeting you soon. Take care & God bless you, Renay

I am using Dr Zabel at Advanced Plastic Surgery Center..... Nicki Zimmerman used him also. I think she told me she had visited a few doctors and found out their techniques and went with Dr Zabel. Is that correct Nicki??? I wanted to stay in DE for my procedure and found Dr Zabel's credentials to be outstanding. I had wanted Dr Chang who is in the same office practice but his consults were only on Thursday afternoons which were impossible for me to make so I opted for Dr Zabel after speaking to Nicki. I know Dr Irgua and Dr Wynn refer you to Dr Danyo. Peace~~ Hope
