Hello hello, I hope this post finds everyone well and happy, and losing and testing and..well, you get my meaning . Everything is great on this end. I have my next follow-up at PMRI Monday ( Elissa, I'm still hoping we can get together for lunch that day. My appt is at 11 AM. I'll call you when I leave and if you're available meet you at Panera Bread for lunch ) Excuse the interuption, now back to our scheduled posting lol I am about 4 1/2 months out and down 80 pounds. The weight loss has been very steady. I seem to be losing in a pattern if that makes sense. I will remain stable for a week or so then drop by about 4 - 5 pounds...for the most part this is how I have been losing. I'm very comfortable with the eventual slow down too. So far my skin is bouncing back very nicely. I'm surprised I'm not having more of a problem considering I've had 3 other abdominal surgeries. Two C-sections and an apendectomy. Tummy is pretty well shot lol. Very small panni going on, nothing I can't live with, so I'm planning no plastics in the future. I feel very good. I'm anxious to see this latest reound of blood work so I can get a truely accurate picture of what my body is doing. My diabetes that was out of control for years has been giving me NO symptoms. I'm totally THRILLED with that as that was my main reason for going ahead with this surgery. It very well could come back, but I have avoided years worth of damaging symptoms by doing this. No meds since I left the hospital! I had another cool side effect last week. I went in for my yearly eye exam. Due to the fact that my bloos sugar has normalized so quickly my prescription changed...and for the better. I now need weaker glasses. I had been noticing some blurring and heard that was common after GBS. The eye doc told me I also probably bought myself an extra TWO years before the dreaded over forty bifocal thing. lol I was thrilled with that. I can eat pretty much anything, with the exception of Hamburger Helper. OMG talk about some serious barfage going on with that stuff LOL I have never eaten anything to see if it makes me dump. I went into this saying I was going to assume that it did and never test the theory. So far so good and I have no desire to change that. I eat small meals focusing on protein first. I eat veggies and fruits. I include toast ( I use light bread and only manage 1 slice ) I have had 1/2 an english muffin with no problems. I refuse to obsess over carbs. Some days I can eat more than others...I don't obsess over that either. All in all I feel wonderfully NORMAL. I feel food is less an issue now in my life than it ever was. I eat, I enjoy it and I'm done and move on. I still measure for the most part too. My main problem is buying clothes. LOL it gets expensive so I have been curbing that desire a bit. Luckilly I had many things packed away that I can wear for ashort time then give away. I have been scoping out Goodwill and staying on the lookout for any thrift stores that might be in the area. Clearance racks are the BEST tho. I lucked out in Boscovs the other day and got a tapestry jacket marked down to 12$ from 50. say yay! Now if I could just manage to stay away from the jewelry display...and shoes...ooooo did someone say SHOES?? lol in my young skinny pre-children days I was quite a clothes horse. That seems to have raised it's ornery head again. Oh well, I can think of worse things I could be doing That's about all the news that's fit to print here. I feel good, I feel like I even look healthier. I just celebrated my 42nd birthday on the 5th. Some were pretty surprised that I am as old as that. I say GOOD! lol Hope you are all well and happy.
