Hey guys - The hospital confirmed my c-section date We'll be welcoming miss Amber Wynn in to the world on October 5th!!! 10 days before my 1 yr anniversary!!
Now - I could not be happier because things have turned out well - Thank you God
But a word of caution to all the new posties - - - USE BACK UP BIRTH CONTROL!! Trust me when I say you will be hard pressed to find anyone is happy to hear you are pregnant before you are at LEAST a year out >> but preferably 18 - 24 months. Kay - Honestly, it is such a big I just found out that Dr. I. really would have preferred that I even the pregnancy when I first found out. Yikes!
However, Dr. W. did not suggest that to me and I have a wonderful OBGYN. But this is not a "fun" way to have a new baby. Even if he/she is okay, you will be beyond tired. You are just not getting enough nutrition to sustain both of you in the begining. Add morning sickness to that... and forget it! In *most* cases, if you are blessed then the baby will take what it needs from your body when the nutrition is not adequate > but where do you think that leaves you?
Especially during the 1st 18 months when there is a higher risk for complications like strictures or intestinal hernia - you don't want to be pregnant and need anestisia, sedation or narcotics - if at all possible. Surgery is relly scary when you are pregnant.
Even for women who have had trouble conceiving in the past, rapid weight loss is proven to rev up your ovaries into a super fertile state in some women. Seriously, my husband barley touched me! Plus my ovulation date was WAY off what it had been pre op. This can be especially true for those that suffer from PCOS. SO if you aren't using birth control - tell your significant other to back off!
OKay - let me get off of that soap box. I refuse to think of Amber as a "mistake", she is not. But if I can prevent new post ops from putting themselves and a new baby through this difficult time then I feel that may be part of the reason God blessed me with her, so others can learn.
