Suggestions for my pureed diet -- week 3?

Hi friends, I am on week 3 of this diet and I am wondering if anyone would like to share any ideas for what got them through the pureed weeks. I found the bean soup recipe from one of the meetings and will try that this weekend. I also found that I LOVE the dark meet from Boston Market pureed with a bit of fat free chicken gravy. I also like pureed egg with celery salt. The best shake is the one from Julie's class -- orange soda with orange yogurt (I have also tried the peach) 1/2 of an orange and the protein powder. Other suggestions? Also what should I be anticipating for the first few weeks of "solids". Thanks again for all your help! Terre PS If anyone needs the recipe for the orange protien shake or the bean soup, let me know and I will send it out. Peace and Love, Terre

Terre, Sounds like you are doing great..but its gets old fast..and you just want something to chew. I would love the recipe for the orange protein drink. Ideas..hmmmm...I did a lot of chicken..like you I pureed chicken with mashed potatoes, I made a chicken salad pureed style, I did a lot of Wendy's chili and Taco Bell refried beans..but I no longer want them now..I think I did too much of them. I made some chicken and dumplings ..and pureed some for me minus the dumplings..but it was great. Also, Brocolli and cheese soup..and I added pureed chicken. Or, you can add some protein powder. Its funny, its hard for me to remember too much. I'm 5 1/2 months out..and trust me..it will go fast. Hugs, Kimberly

purreed:: Chunky potato soup, Chunky chicken & dumplings, shrimp & ****tail sauce, cream of wheat, chili, Mashed potatoes with cheese Chunky split pea & ham soup yougurt - dannon lite & fit is the best I think as far as taste & sugar. Start slow with the solids - you will get a packet telling you what to do but basically you will start with the foods you were pureeing - but you will just chew them well. Add string cheese too - really conveinent.

Terre, I lived on homemade bean soup, potatoe soup, refried beans, mashed potatoes, creamed chicken with cream of chicken soup over mashed potatoes, added cheese to everything I could think of. I was not all that creative during this phase sorry I can not offer any better suggestions. Linda had a wonderful list of pureed suggestions but I lost everything like that on my computer when it crashed, perhaps someone else saved it and will share it with you. Best wishes! Hugs, Tammy

Terre, I'm also on week 3 and agree with you! Other things I've tried are imitation crab meat, puree and add some light mayo. I also cook and puree one Healthy Choice sausage link (weighs 1 oz) and cook and puree 1 oz of egg beaters and have a nice breakfast. I alternate protein shakes by starting with skim milk , powdered dry milk, unflavored protein powder , and splenda and then change what I add to it. Sometimes I add a banana, an apple with some cinnamon, chocolate flavoring, etc. Hope it helps! Love, Kathleen

Hi Terre, As well as everyone elses suggestions.. how about some ricotta cheese.. with a spoonful of spaghetti sause added? Made me feel like I was having something real, like when the family was having ravioli! Do you like grits? I love that still now, with some unflavored protein powder.. I'd like the orange shake recipe too.. can you post it here? Good luck, the time will fly!
