Gigee! Welcome! I'm relatively new to the 'boards', however, I'm having surgery on 9/1 (I do EVERYTHING backwards!). These are a great bunch of people! If you can, try to make it to the Support Group meetings at PMRI, most of the wonderful folks here on the boards come to the meetings and they have great info to pass along! Welcome Gigee & Teresa, Boy looks like we're gonna have a busy fall/winter. All the newbies coming aboard. My knees & calves killed me too. 24 hrs a day 7 days a week. I did therapy, celebrex and mega amounts of tylenol. I took an office job where I worked cause of the constant pain. I quit my part time job at Longwood cause I couldn't take the pain after standing for 6 hours at a stretch. The bigger I became, the more I hurt and the less exercise I got. The day of my surgery, 1/26/04, as soon as I got to my room, I wanted to get up and walk. As soon as I got past the door I knew my knee problems were over. Course the meds were there to take some of the pain, but I felt better that fast. My BP was normal within 5 weeks, no meds now. Cholestoral is 183 down from 275. I am so much healthier, which was my goal in the first place. OBTW, I've lost 102 lbs too. YIPPPEEE!!!! So get ready for a journey that you should not regret. We'll be here for you. ((HUGS)) Elissa
