Denice is out of surgery and is assigned to Room # 5031B. Don't know any other details. Not even sure if she has an angel. ((HUGS)) Elissa Email link: http://sba-nl-sm6-01.medseek.com/websitefiles/christianacare51740/body.cfm?id=263

Thanks Elissa for your honorary angel duty. That was so sweet and kind of you to just step right in. We just love that on the Delaware board.

Hi - This is Denice's husband writing on her behalf. This is my second attempt. After writing all the details of her day and was about to submit, a power failure decided to wipe out 20 minutes worth of typing. We arrived at the hospital at 11:00 AM. Denice was taken to a bed around 11:30, and transferred to the OR between 2:00 and 2:15 PM. Denice was worried about how well the twins were treating Grandmom, so she sent me home. Before I left, I got a time line from Lorraine. She expected Denice to be placed in recovery around 5:30 PM. I went home, played with the kids, helped Grandmom start dinner and headed back to the hospital. I arrived at 5:20 PM. The attendant told me that everything went well and she was already in recovery. Since she was already in recovery, I missed an opportunity to meet Dr. Wynn. I was told to wait until someone came for me. At 7:10 PM, I phoned information, who directed me to see Denice in recovery. She was still pretty incoherent, but was more interested in asking about the kids before I could ask how she was doing. Denice was in the process of getting her pain medication regulated. JeanMarie has told me that her room was not available yet and that it could be a couple of hours before she was transferred. Back to the waiting room... At 9:15 PM, Denice had sent someone to retrieve me. She was in good spirits, and less pain. She complained that she needed mouthwash or something to get rid of the nasty taste in her mouth. Upon learning it was yet another couple of hours for her room (they had to jockey two patients), she again told me to go home. She was comfortable, yet warm. (Our house is kept at a 70-degree max all summer long.) She asked for a kiss -- after the previous mouthwash comment -- I opted for the forehead. We exchanged "I love you's" and I told her I would speak to her in the morning. At 1:00 AM I phoned the PACU to ensure she was transported to her room. I was told she was transferred around midnite. Prior to Denice's quest for obtaining information about this procedure she was not particularly interested in the web or anything about a computer. Now she understands how you can get consumed by surfing for something you really care about and spend countless hours on the computer until you look up and realize it's tomorrow. She really gets excited getting messages from people and I hear words come out of her mouth that I have never heard in 15 years -- "When are you going to get off so I can get on?" Thank you all for your support and care and Denice crosses over to the losing side. Phil

Hello everyone - This board is amazing. Denice has received more messages on this board in one day than I have received in 22 years combined using message boards. I have been trying to get in touch with Denice since 10 AM and the phone is busy. I thought, WOW! she must be doing really well! I called the nurse's station who informed me that while she is doing well, she is actually sound asleep - and here I thought she forgot her family. I will probably break up the day and go to see her around 4, to sometime after dinner. The hospital is next door to my work so I'm used to the commute. It's only about 25 minutes in light traffic. I'll post again after I see her. Thanks again for your support and care. Phil
