Newport Meeting?
Can anyone tell me what the Newport meeting is like and how does it differ from the PMRI meetings on Saturdays? What is the attendance like, topics, etc. I would appreciate any information that you might have. Also does anyone know what the best protein drinks are that you can get in the most protein?
Thanks for your help!,

Protein...
As far as the protein drinks go... There are dozens of brands that offer a wide variety in range as far as the number of grams per serving. Obviously we want the most we can get at a time.
(There is a debate over whether or not you ca "absorb" a large number of protein grams at 1 time but currently our dieticians at PMRI say there is not a cap. Also, if you leave it in the fridge & come back to it the dieticians at PMRI say the protein is still there although it has changed somewhat in molecular form it does not go away as some say that it does.)
That said - it can vary widely from example 20 grams to 60 grams. Sometimes you will notice however that a serving of one brand may be 1 scoop of powder and a serving of another brand may be 2 scoops of powder. That may be the difference in calories too, 1 scoop generally has about 100 calories & 2 scoops 200 calories - although that varies somewhat by brand too.
As far as what you end up using as a supplement, it will more than likely boil down to taste. I for example like the Vitamin shoppe's "Whey Tech" Chocolate protein powder - while my friend Karen (Hopeforallofus) loves Trader Joe's Chocolate and I hate it. Now, these 2 products have nearly the same caloric & protein content but we chose different ones based on personal taste preference.
There are MANY types to try. Chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, banana, mocha, orange etc. You can mix them with water or skim milk - or use an "Unflavored" variety with tea or crystal light. I found, especially early on when calories are not an issue, they taste way better with skim milk than with water & that provides nutrition & additional important protein.
They also come in varieties that are more "drinks" than "shakes" such as lemonade, fruit punch or pre made Isopure bottles Which while expensive, if you like them pack a nice 40 g of protein per 20 oz (I think) bottle.
