I was wondering if you know where the new office is... I don't go bac****il Sept but just wanted to have my ducks in order. I heard it's supposed to be pretty close to their current location?

Ginger, I have a post-op appt. mid August and when I asked the office staff about the move I was told we will all receive directions when they confirm our appts. But to be sure, whoever goes there first, how about you post the new address and location? If no one does it by the time I have my appt. I will, OK? Kit

The doc will go over the surgery itself with you... they will have a diagram and draw on it to show you where the cut & re-attach, etc. Also will talk in great detail your previous diet history. You will be given a packet of all the things you need to do regarding scheduling appts with PMRI and other docs, Depends what health problems you have now. But the most important thing is that she is there to answer your questions. So if I were you.... get a piece of paper and start writing them down and take them with you. You head will be spinning with all the info and plus the case of nerves that we all seem to get. Good Luck!!

Gail, I had my pre-op on 7/15. Basically it's like a checkup you would have with your PCP...weight, BP. Then Brett, the docs assistant, talks to you about the procedure, the do's and don'ts (before and after) and will answer questions. He also does an exam. Then your surgeon comes in and reviews your file, might ask you a couple questions, does an exam, and takes time to answer your questions. They send you home with a packet about the hospital, how to prepare for surgery (before and after), a slip for pre-op (bloodwork, maybe a chest xray if you haven't had one recently). At least that was my visit, hope this helps! Kit

Gail, The only thing that I can add is ... Dr Irgau really made me feel so very comfortable at this meeting and very glad that I made the decision that I had made. He was so very compassionate. At my first meeting, while I felt he was extrememly nice and infomative, I truly appreciated his compassion that I was able to experience at my pre-op meeting. It was like he gave me the exact things I needed at the exact times I needed them. Hugs, Tammy
