NO BLOCKAGES!!!!!!

I'm home and it's over and done with--no blockages and the clearance has been faxed to Dr. Wynn's office. I have to have blood work done tomorrow morning to check the kidney function and make sure the dye didn't aggravate them or cause any more damage but I feel pretty good so I think I'll be fine. I'm still not pleased with Dr Kumar. I don't know--maybe it's a personality thing or something but after he came in to the cath lab to say hello and ask me how I was he proceeded to tell me that he talked to "Gail" yesterday and there is no letter in my file at her office that says my test was negative. Like he just had to have the last word! Then despite numerous people along the way telling both my husband and I that the procedure would take about 25 minutes (although i'd be gone for about an hour to an hour and a half) and then the doctor would come out to speak with my husband--he never did. I left my husband at about 1210pm and he didn't hear a thing until 230pm when they told him to go up to my room. He had this look of panic on his face cause he was convinced something was wrong and they were keeping me. I had to explain to him that everything was "ok" cause no one bothered to speak with him. That's just unprofessional in my mind. But, anyway, it's over and done with and I'm done with this doctor barr any complications. And I now know (with the exception of the kidneys) that everything else in this body is fine and ready to go. Thanks again for your support and your prayers. You guys truly are the very best!!!!!!

Glad everythng turned out for te best. I've had bad experiences with doctors that other people got along with just fine too. The human factor I guess. After my procedure Dr. Kumar did come out & talk to my dad who had taken me for the procedure so I can't imagine why he would not have tried to talk to your husband, that must have been so concerning to him. I will let you know that even if there are no complications that you are supposed to schedule a follow up visit with Dr. Kumar. You will probably just be seeing the nurse but they will want to check the puncture site. If you do not schedule & keep this appointment they are likely to keep calling you forever to do so I did not make mine & they called last month to see when I wanted my followup... My procedure was 9/4/03 - I'm not going back at this point. The whole heart cath experience was probably my worst part of the entire process and I was glad to have it behind me. Hopefully now it will just be smooth sailing for you. ~Kathy V.
