Protein Supplements...
I committed to Danielle Jerome, the registered dietician from PMRI who spoke at the meeting on Saturday that "we" would like to give the nutirionists at PMRI an updated protein supplement list which more reflects our community. The list that I got from them prior to my surgery was out-of-date two years ago. I will be sending the list to Danielle next Friday (but will also post it on the WLS-NDE and MS-Friends site). If you would like to contribute, please post what you enjoy, where you get it, nutrional factors (protein grams etal.) and how much it costs. We do not need to include every protein powder that we have tried, but only those that you feel good about recommending.
Obviously if you are using Unjury I don't need to know, since it is pretty much at the top of every list I create. I also have Trader Joe's protein powder and Real Meals on the list.
Thanks for your help. A little scoop will do you. Your bud,
Rob
Rob,
The one protein supplement that I prefer is ISOPURE (GNC)(Orange/Pineapple/Banana) it has 25 grams protein per scoop and is 110 calories using 6 oz of water. It has taken the place of orange juice in the morning for me. I was a big juice drinker prior to the surgery.
I have heard alot of good things about Unjury so I guess I will have to place and order when my ISOPURE runs out.
Just thought I'd share..I love the unflavored unjury.. but it gives me hives. not sure why, soy milk does the same thing, as well as equal and sweet/low. Really limits my choices ya know. lol Gonna give the UU another try when back from vacation, but I'm sure that is what it was that was giving me the hives everyday.
Guess I'll just have to recommend the beneprotein, does anyone know of any other unflavored protein powder??
Thx guys.
