Back From Vacation
Got back a few days ago from our annual camping trip to Knoebels, other than some rain Wednesday night we had a great time! I have found that after all these years rides make me sooooo sick lol. I have christened the Tilt-A-Whirl the Whirl-A-Hurl The kids in our group found it entertaining that Mom...Aunt Linda was rather I even managed to do my own Mastercard commercial back at the campsite that night:
New camp chair $30.00
All day ride pass $21.50
Puking your guts up in the weeds behind the cosmotron....Priceless!
Annnyway, I managed to get myself on the Scenic Skyway...a ski lift that hangs 400 feet up and travels up the mountain. I have an intense fear of heights and try my best to overcome it. This was a HUGE thing for me to do. I wanted to try last year but fear got the best of me, mostly weight related fear. You have to enter and exit the car like a standard ski lift by waiting for it to come up behind you. There is also a sign ther that says to please take any physical limitations you have into consideration because in the event a problem arises with the lift you will be rescued by rope chair Pardon my French here but there is NO WAY I was letting anyone or anything haul my ass down off a mountain in a rope chair...lol can't you see CNN flying over now for a live broadcast? This year it was ok about the potential rescue thing. ARRG how I hate heights tho.
We usually do the pool/water slides during the day and the park itself in the evening. I went on the slides this year. LOL my youngest son was standing at the bottom on my first ride down and snapped a pic. He said I knew when to shoot, I could hear you screaming all the way down! lol it was alot of fun.
We have been doing this vacation every year for the past 8 years. This year it was so different for me. I had no pain, no discomfort. No rest breaks going from bench to bench to sit down. I walked miles and miles everyday. Food was fine, I kept Isopure in the cooler and meals we ate in the park I had no trouble finding something I could eat. I had a wonderful time and am really looking forward to our annual trek to Harpers Ferry. I have a score to settle with a hiking trail down there, a six mile hike I was never able to finish. The end of that trail has my name on it this year! There is also a kayak waiting for me on the Shennandoah and hopefully a white water rafting trip if we have time.
Down 70 some pounds and lovin' every minute of it!
Linda
