I'm looking for some advice in reference to the insurance that I currently have. Right now I have Coventry and I'm curious if anyone out there has this same insurance, what info you could give me. Also if you know any doctors that accept this. I had my initial consultation with a Dr. in MD, but he does not participate with this insurance. Any info I could get would greatly be appreciated. Thanks

Hi, I have also heard that Coventry NEVER approves WLS. Good luck with the journey. T

Thank you for the information. It looks like I need to switch insurances ASAP the only problem is open enrollment for my job just ended last week. The coventry insurance is through my husband. Hopefully, I can make up some excuse as to why i need to switch so suddenly. I don't think I could wait another year for enrollment to open back up. thanks

I am aware of only 1 exception where Coventry will cover WLS. I'm covered under my husband's plan for secondary coverage. He is employed by the State of Delaware (DelDot) and the State's plan DOES cover WLS. I went through my health plan for primary coverage (Anthem BS/BC) and they only paid 50% and Coventry picked up the balance. A co-worker of my husband had WLS in May and Coventry paid for it. I work in the insurance industry and I understand that the State of DE's plan is the only one that Coventry administers that offers WLS coverage. Good luck with switching your plans, I hope everything works out smoothly for you! Patty
