Well, its been 3 weeks this Thursday since my surgery and I'm down 30 pounds. I can't beleive it but it's true. I finally got sick yesterday for the first time bet I won't eat another bite of a hamburgerfor a while. Had to learn it on my own. Well, thanks for all of prayers and support.

Glad to hear you are now a BIG looser. Hamburger still does it to me and so does chicken. I keep trying, but it is not on my list of favorites anymore. Keep up the great work Joyce. ((HUGS)) Elissa

Good golley, Elissa. What do you eat instead? Can you eat beef instead of hamburger?

Diane, I can eat shellfish & fish. I can eat a hotdog without bun of course. I can eat Chili, ham & pork. Filet of beef & roast beef goes down okay. If I put the ground hamburg in a cream of mushroom sauce I can eat it. I have tried the chicken baked, barbecued and in a casserrole, in a salad and broiled. It tastes good but I can eat just 1/2 bites, then it sticks and I get the burps & hiccups and usually foam. I keep trying it every other week or so. One of these days. I used to eat chicken at least 3 times a week before. Everyone is so different. It does get easier the longer out I get and the less foaming. So far I have not dumped yet, just foamed. Congratulations. I'm down 12 pounds after a week. I've been afraid to try red meat, but so far chicken and crab and fish work well. Keep up the good work. Diane Cook

Congratulations Joyce! Enjoy the ride!!! I have found that I have trouble with hamburger also for the most part. But I have found that I can eat a couple of bites of an Angus Burger that Cosco sells, but other hamburger almost never sets too well with me (although it is getting better as time passes). Chicken used to be a hard one for me, but as time passes it is getting easier, but still not easy. But I can do steak without a problem ... go figure? It truly is a matter of trial and error, especially in the beginning. I am finding that the further I get out the more I can count on something either working or not. Like Elissa said, I used to get the foamies and sneezes a lot. I can't remember the last time I have had the foamies now, and the sneezes are now a rariety. I usually now just get an uncomfortable full feeling if I eat the wrong thing and know with that first bite that it is not going to work and stop. For those of you looking for an easy recipe I browsed one in a mag yesterday and it is so easy I can't believe that I never thought of it ... figured this one was worth sharing. Catfish (I will use another fish that is a little less fatty) Old Bay Seasoning Pam Fry Pan Fry on each side about 5 minutes and Whalla!!! Love Old Bay ... love easy ... so this one will most likely be a keeper in my book! If anyone else trys it before I get the chance, please let me know what you think! Hugs, Tammy
