It is a girl!! We found out today. It makes me nervous! I KNOW what to do with boys but girls - well that is all NEW!! How do you like this name?? Amber Wynn Van Nostrand She is looking good! Measuring right on target & weighs abotu 1.7 lbs already! And I have 3 months left!! I'm feeling pretty worn down but I'm just starting to really recover from the GB removal & hernia surgery. OH and get this... I do have another hernia... Good grief!! This one is not intestinal but abdominal. It is nearly under my ribs on the right side & it is painful. It is possibly what has been bothering me that I assumed was residual gallbladder pain. I have to go for a "fasting" ultra-sound tomorrow afternoon to look at the gallbladder area for fluid build up etc. I've never heard of having to fast for an ultrasound. The only thing I can figure is that it is to maybe shrink the liver a little? Anyway... that is that. My father in law in the hospital that has been an extra strain on everyone too - especially my father in law! He is having a hard time recovering from the bypass surgery I wrote about on Sunday. Ups & downs. His recovery is not as fast as others because of the diabetes, vascular problems, kidney problems - so he is still in ICU and probably will be for a while. Speaking of diabetes... I can't get the standard Glucose Tolerance Test that is given to pregnant women because of the GBS. The sugar grams in the drink is over 50 & I don't see getting through that. So, tomorrow I have to go to the diabetes center for the class on gestational diabetes. They will teach me abotu it, how to use the monitor and such. Yesterday my blood sugar was 150 so it is not looking good... One more thing for this poor bambino - seriously... I am going to have to consider "Grace", "Miracle" or "Lucky" as a name instead of Amber!! Thanks for ALL of your well wishes and prayers for this little one - they really seem to be working!! Love ~ Kathy V.

Kathy! That's great news!! Congrats!!! I am so happy for you!!! The name you selected is a beautiful name. I also like the fact that you are including Wynn as the middle name. Of course, I may be wrong, but i am guessing that you came up with that as a "thank you" to Dr. Wynn!! I think she will be honored if thats the name that you decide on! Best of luck during the rest of your pregnancy!! Also, my continued prayers are being sent for your father-in-law as well. Take Care!! -Joe-

Kathy How awesome, a girl, a little princess! I love the name. It flows like a prestigous law firm's name or something like that. I mean that in a good way. Take care of yourself and Amber Wynn. Glad you updated on your FIL, I was wondering. You sure have had some hurdles to jump with all the surgeries and the pregnancy, as well.

Kathy, I bet you and hubby are on cloud 9. And the boys will love having a little sister. Girls are a little noisy-ier than boys, but you will do fine. Whoa, this hernia thing, can you wait until after little Amber is here to get anything else. You're right about being a Miracle baby. Maybe "Faith" added to Amber Wynn might be appropriate. Without it none of us would be here. I'll keep you all in my prayers. 3 months is not so long. Stay healthy. ((HUGS)) Elissa

Hey, love... I am so happy for you and hubby! What a precious gift...and I absolutley LOVE the name! Girls are great...I found out early that I was having a girl, too, and I had the BEST time decorating her room, choosing little frilly dresses and sundress outfits. The bloomers and bonnets will have you going! You have been through so very much...I can't believe you have another hernia, girlfriend! My goodness!!! Oh, and I was borderline gestational diabestes with Ashley and trust me...be glad that you don't have to drink that concoction. You'll do just fine. Keep us posted on any other news, chickie!! And again...congrats on your little pink bundle of sugar and spice! Miss ya! -k
