I'm sure you will hear from a zillion people how wonderfully motivated they are now and what an excersize nut they have become. I still have to force myself to exercise, and honestly don't have the time to devote to it that I should. So, once again we are reminded.. this surgery is on our stomachs .. not our brains. Maybe some hypnosis is in order now?? Angels are people who will let us know how you are after your surgery and be there to answer any questions (as we all are).

Kristina, Not sure if you are pre-surgery or post. Don't beat yourself up. Most people will tell you that I am extremely biased toward exercise. I hate it! I drive almost every day up to West Chester to do my workouts (30 minutes up, 30 minutes back after working all day). I never had time for exercise prior to surgery except for an occassional walk. Now I have so met so many people at the gym and they actually call me when I miss more than a day. How can it be a lost cause? If you lift 3 pounds this month, and 4 pounds next month that is a major victory. As far as exercise goes, you need to motivate yourself. The good thing is after surgery it is mainly a mind game. You fight your mind constantly to stay motivated. But at least your mind is not constantly being reinforced by your body. Most of the pains that you had before surgery either go away, or are greatly reduced. Pains now are much easier to work your way through. Also the more you exercise, especially circuit training, the less "skin" you need to worry about later when deciding whether you will need plastic surgery. It really doesn't get any easier, exercise will help down the road when you get those cravings that suddenly reappear. Never met a person who shouldn't be out there walking... Rob
